I prefer the
summer, especially since where I live we've had one of the worst winters that I've ever experienced. We normally only have one week of a cold snap around -40ish F sometime in Jan/Feb, but we had about 2 weeks of that in November, then AGAIN intermittently in both December and January. Coupled with our limited hours of daylight, I'm pretty fed up with Alaska.
An interesting note: most all vehicles in Alaska have plugins sticking out the front of them underneath so we can connect them to a power source when the temperature dips below zero. Usually you only have to plug them in for about an hour or so to warm the engine, but when the temperature gets extreme, sometimes you need to do it for up to 4 hours for your car to even start. Then the car needs to warm up for 15 or so minutes, killing expensive gas and forcing you to really time out your schedule so you're not running late to wherever you need to go. D:
