Welcome to Amethyst Period

Sunday, May 11th, 2014

Voting is now open for Round 1 of Amethyst Period. Cast your votes today!

Congratulations last week to Misaka Mikoto for winning the Aquamarine Necklace, which she last claimed in 2011. Amethyst’s defending Necklace recipient is Gokō Ruri, two-years running. Will she be able to take it a third time?

The Staff has spent the break week improving on the CAPTCHA on our voting page. We hope it is more efficient and easy to use today. As always, don’t forget proper order of operations!

Good luck to all our Contestants, and thank you again to our entire community for voting.

Amethyst 2 extended three hours

Wednesday, May 15th, 2013

Downtime occured during voting earlier today for 3 hours. We apologize for the site unavailability and will be extending the voting period to 1800 GMT to make up the time.

Results for this round are still scheduled for 0300 as usual.

Improved voting form

Sunday, May 12th, 2013

Welcome to Amethyst Period. We’re looking forward to another great set of matches; good luck to all our Contestants who are vying for the Amethyst Necklace.

Today the staff is also happy to roll out an update to the voting form, which now features randomized ordering of arenas. The matchups are still the same as you saw in the preview over the weekend. But they will not be in the same position on the ballot itself when you load it. Our system will keep track of it, though, and make sure your vote gets processed properly. After you submit, the sharing code will be the same as always.

This upgrade is designed to combat against cheating, which we have seen a lot of through the years and continue to work and develop ways against it. We hope that the new form will help ensure the accuracy of our results on top of our existing vote-checking measures. The staff always encourages everyone to vote honestly in each match.

As always, thank you for your support. We hope you like the dynamic feel of the new form!

Amethyst Period is Completed!

Saturday, June 23rd, 2012

To think that half the year is over and with that, 2012 Amethyst is also over. It was a close match between the 7 wonderful contestants who worked hard this Period for the necklace, but the one who was able to come out on top in the end was Gokō Ruri. Congratulations to Gokō Ruri for obtaining the Amethyst Necklace! In addition, Ikaros has won the Amethyst Brooch from the exhibition inter-division matchup! A big applause for these two lovely ladies who persevered throughout their matches, thanks to your support.

We’re grateful to all of you voters out there who are gathering support for your favorite contestants, and spreading the word in order to make this a great year for everyone! While we’re preparing for Ruby, why don’t you take a look at the Forums and discuss results with others?

Thank you, everyone! We hope you’re all as excited for Ruby as we are! Take care until then!

Amethyst Concluded

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

Congratulations to Nagato Yuki for winning the 2011 Amethyst Necklace! She joins Shana as the second Contestant to defend a Necklace after winning it the previous year. It was a close battle between her and Eucliwood, but there can be only one victor in the end. Best of luck to Eu and all of our other Contestants in the matches to come! There are many Necklaces remaining, and the coveted Heavenly Tiara is also still out there for the taking. Amethyst Period is concluded, and we have a short break until Sapphire Period on Wednesday, July 5. Previews for the first round can be expected by the end of the coming weekend.

Our exhibition winner this Period is Kagura from Gintama, who wins the Amethyst Brooch. Congratulations!

Thank you for all your votes, support, and donations. We are nearing the halfway point of the Regular Season, and things couldn’t be more exciting.

Amethyst Period

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

Welcome to Amethyst Period; you’ll be seeing things in purple for the next 3 weeks.

The preview for Round 1 is now available on the voting page. Voting will begin on Sunday at 15:00 GMT per usual.

For our forum members, Fantasy will be delayed as we have a new format in the works, but it should be ready later today or tomorrow.

Amethyst over

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

Congratulations to the winner of the Amethyst Necklace, Nagato Yuki!

Since it is the end of the Period, the “head-to-head” tiebreaker took effect for the final Amethyst standings, which has higher precedence than the SDO stat. It affected three Contestants in the middle of the standings but played no role in determining the necklace winner (and it won’t play a role in the future as long as the necklace contenders have no losses in the Period).

This tiebreaker won’t be applied to the overall standings until the end of the Regular Season.

Timer reduction

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

Starting Amethyst 6, the voting timer will be reduced to 3 minutes (180 seconds).

Amethyst 5 did not have any submissions for featured match previews. If you want to contribute a writeup for future matches, please post them on our forums.

Thanks to everyone for sticking with ISML and voting! We are nearing another Period finale here in Amethyst.
