Saturday, October 18th, 2014

The Exhibition tournament will now begin on Sunday, November 16, and last for 9 voting days. The original starting date was a week prior (Nov 9), but we have updated the content and format. The last voting day of the tournament will remain Dec 4.

For more details about our exhibition tournament, please visit the discussion thread on our forum.

Thanks for voting in ISML!

Exhibition Tournaments 2013

Sunday, November 17th, 2013

Voting is open again! As a special treat during the ISML off-season we have a series of exhibition tournaments starting today.

– ISML Male Edition
– ISML Touhou Tournament
– ISML 2013 Summer Seasonal Tournament
– ISML 2013 Autumn Sesaonal Tournament

The male tournament is in its third year; the main page shows our previous winners, Lelouch and Kirito. Today is Day 1 featuring Groups 1-8. Groups 9-16 will be featured on Day 2.

The Touhou tournament is new to ISML this year. There are 8 groups split over two days.

The Summer and Autumn seasonal tournaments are similar to the Winter and Spring tournaments held earlier in the year. This is a preview of what ISML 2014 has in store, as we feature the newest characters in exhibition matchups.

Enjoy the matches, and thanks for voting!

Seasonal Champions and Males’ Semifinals!

Thursday, December 13th, 2012

As our Bonus Exhibition Tournament draws to a close, we’re also excited to say that the nomination period for International Saimoe League 2013 is less than a month away! It’s been almost two months since Tachibana Kanade was awarded the Heavenly Tiara for International Saimoe League 2012, and we certainly had a successful tournament, thanks to the support of our voters.

The semifinal match for our male contestants this year will be starting in less than 11 hours, and they need your support through the intense semifinal and final matches in order to earn the Lapis Scepter of 2012! In addition, we’d like to congratulate our Summer and Fall exhibition winners, Takanashi Rikka and Yūki Asuna respectively! They’ve worked hard throughout their seasonal exhibition matches to make it this far, but it’s not quite over yet! The two of them will be facing off with the Winter and Spring exhibition champions in order to be crowned the Seasonal winner!

Let’s wish the best of luck to the final contestants in their final matches, and the best of luck to our seasonal exhibition contestants! Give them your full support, and these are the last matches we’ll see of 2012!

Male matchups posted

Monday, November 26th, 2012

Matchups for the first round of our bonus tournament are now posted on the voting page. We apologize for the long wait, but it’s almost time to get the Exhibition Period of this ISML off-season started. Voting begins tomorrow!

For the first round, our competitors are grouped into pools of six. You will be able to select up to two characters in each pool. The top two winners of each group will advance to the next around. Unfortunately, that means we will have to eliminate everyone else after one voting day. Our 96 entrants will be reduced to 32. So please choose carefully, and be sure to let your friends know!

Starting on Thursday, we’ll begin our seasonal tournament for the fall and autumn seasons. The winners of this tournament will eventually meet with the winners of our winter and spring seasonal tournaments that were held during the Elimination Period.

Exhibition Directory

Sunday, September 16th, 2012

The exhibition directory for the 2012 regular season is ready for viewing.

http://www.internationalsaimoe.com/contestants/exhibition.php

It’s a much larger page because of the amount of exhibition characters this year compared to last, but it is still modeled after last year’s page where each column represents one Round in the Period, going from 1 to 7, left to right.

At the very bottom are still the posters for exhibition winners after each Necklace Round.

Exhibition Tournament approaching

Sunday, December 4th, 2011

Our exhibition male tournament begins on Tuesday. It will last nine voting days and follow the usual schedule pattern. The front page now shows our tournament bracket, starting with 96 characters. A series of 3-way matches will occur until the field is reduced to 32. And then 1-vs-1 matches will follow until a single champion remains.

Exhibition matches will be featured with additional males and even some guest female characters. If you don’t see a particular male you’re fond of in the bracket, maybe he’ll show up in exhibition! In the end, we do realize there are still far more characters available, but we unfortunately do not have the space to feature everybody. If this tournament is successful, we’ll aim to do better next time. For now, good luck to our competitors!

Our latest donors are ntaee and Z.G. Thank you very much for your contributions!

Correction to S3 Exhibition

Friday, July 8th, 2011

Scheduling error on Sapphire 3 (S3) Exhibition Match on the Match Preview; it has now been fixed.

The correct matchup is Chii vs. Kagura. Sorry for any confusion.

Community Artwork Portal

Thursday, May 26th, 2011

We’re happy to announce our portal for community artwork, currently featuring posters from Aquamarine Exhibition and support (signature) banners from Topaz Period.

http://www.internationalsaimoe.com/community/artwork.php

A few weeks ago we started art contests on the Forum. Anyone in the community may participate to share their talents and learn from others. For now, they are mainly Photoshop/GIMP contests about ISML’s Exhibition competitors, but more types and categories may be hosted in the future.

The main artwork page lists the winners of the contests, but there are also links to view the entire entrant list for each Period. So almost all submissions will be featured on the main site.

Congratulations to all our participants and winners, both artists and competitors alike.

Match preview available

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

The match preview is now available on the voting page. Each round of the Postseason will have 10 arenas. The arenas not occupied by official Double Elimination Matches will be Exhibition Matches. For this first round, 8 are official (which you’ve known for a while since we posted the tournament bracket on the front page) and 2 are exhibition.

Expect at least 6 Exhibition Matches for each of the subsequent rounds. Please consider them all as they appear; some of them were community picks, which we’re excited about. Characters from new series in 2010 will be featured, so some matches should be indicators of potential future saimoe rivalries to come.

We’re one week away from the start of ISML Postseason. Thanks for all your support, and good luck to our finalists!

Exhibition Directory

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

The exhibition directory is now set up where you can view the characters we have featured in previous Rounds. Inclusion of match results (i.e. who won) is currently not planned; those results can be found in each Period’s statistics page for now.
