I voted for Taiga and Minorin because well, Toradora! is well-known and well-liked. There doesn't seem to be hate between Taiga fans and Minorin fans like in some rom-coms either. For the other character I picked Makoto because she's a KyoAni character.

Voted Makoto because she is awesome, Taiga because I <3 her and Aya because I <3333 her, even though Aya probably wont be in the top three at the end.

I noticed that with ToraDora! as well. I agree with these choices, and of course Touhou could be an interesting X-Factor for the competition, depending on whose theory of the fanbase is correct.

I'm with those that do not expect Touhous dominating. I mainly believe in the argument that attracting to much attention to themselves will serve as their downfall. That anti-Touhou club is a case in point.

Or maybe it's all wiseful thinking.

I chose Taiga, Minori, and Makoto just because I can hardly see the others doing well at all. These three's futures are the most promising, according to my one-second skim of the character list.

Touhou will probably be a complete wildcard. There are plenty of fans, but prob will bring plenty of anti-voting.

I also expect Tora to do well, since it has a storng storyline (despite the premise) and the characters are well developed. Not to mention K-virus T-strain.

i'm thinking taiga has the biggest chance among toradora characters to become a top-3 newcomer ^_^ one from touhou might make it still though even with my assumed large anti-touhou base. The last of my three choices is not in the list which is a very big newcomer candidate in j-saimoe 2008 but might be questionable here in ISML simply because i'm not sure of the series' popularity outside of japan.

I'm pretty sure that Taiga will do well, as likely the most popular Toradora! character, with Minorin being (hopefully) very close.

Also, while I am on the anti-Touhou side, I do think that Reimu might do well because despite the Touhou hate, there's also a decent amount of Touhou love.

So I voted for Taiga, Minorin, and Reimu, although I personally wouldn't vote for Reimu (Nagi gets my vote~).

I must be a pessimist, voting for mostly touhou characters... nonetheless, from the looks of the prelims Taiga may end up doing very well for herself. I don't even mind her clumsiness.

Taiga, and probably two of the Touhous. As much as I'm sure that the Touhou girls won't fare too well, no-one else from the preliminaries looks like they'll be able to stand up to Reimu and Aya. Maybe Minorin... but I'm biased, I don't like her at all.

Taiga for sure, and maybe Minorin, along with a Touhou. Probably Reimu or Marisa (wishful thinking for the latter). I do hope Makoto does well, though.

Like just about everyone else I expect Taiga to do very well. I also voted for Reimu, since she seems to have the most support of all of the Touhou characters, and to be honest even though I'm not a Touhou fan I may vote her over a number of others this year.

Finally, Amu whom I think will do surprisingly well, she did manage to beat both Marisa and Minori in the preliminaries. Of course she didn't win by much, and didn't do as well in the nominations so it's likely I could be wrong.

Taiga, for sure. With her massive and sudden fan base, I think she'll sweep through parts of the competition easy.

Taiga: Face it, ToraDora! is quite well known and Taiga and Minorin will do good, but with Taiga being the more famous one (even though I'm a Minorin fan). Seems REALLY promising.
Reimu: Touhou (and even most famous within Touhou?, donno) so ya.
Makoto: While not as likely as the other two, seem promising from what I have seen, might become one of the top KyoAni char (wishful thinking).

with my lurking, I've been pretty much been able to deduce the Taiga-tank(me and my weird militaristic nature :p) shall be able to hold her ground. and I forsee Reimu, and Minorin will as well... just gotta watch out for the Geassian partisans though...

I was wondering why it looked as if I hadn't voted yet. I predict Anya won't make it to top 16, among Geass fans she's outclassed by C.C. On the other hand C.C. did make top 16 last year, and with the new influx of Korean voters Anya could do well in the regular season.
I doubt she can do better than Taiga or the Touhous, though.
