I don't really see Mato as a major player in ISML, so that was an expected result for Kyou. I think the voters decided it was time for a change and let some new fresh faces take the spotlight like Kirino and Inori so more power to them. ESPECIALLY with Mio already hitting her peak with her TIara win a few years ago.

Inori winning over Sena? Never got the impression that Sena would lose to non-tier 1 opponents..... even after finding out Mashiro was Inori's tier 1 opponent. But the good news... for Aoyama is if she can win her final match, she might be able to finish the season in 6th, which could give her a better chance at winning her first postseason match.

Shana barely winning over Yui-nyan isn't the real surprise. With Kirino's win over Mio, Shana is now in 7th and could possibly avoid a potential 1st round postseason match with Ayase. But that now means, Mio could be in danger of facing Ayase in the postseason.

But I think they intend to boost Mashiro's SDO, and drop Mikoto's SDO. If this flow continues, Inori will get one more win, while Kanade and Yurippe get another loss in next match.

Well Mio lost to Kirino. Kanade has a higher SDO than Mikoto. And Mashiro has an SDO of 80. Almost double that of Mikoto.

I don't think life can get much worst right now.
Team Rocket Elite wrote:There were a few fairly extreme results today. I expected Menma to be a bit stronger than Mikan but Menma goes on to put up a huge win on Mikan. Similar I expected Inori and Sena to be close in strength but Inori goes to town on Sena instead with a huge win. To a smaller extent, Nagisa did this to Hitagi and Nadeko did it to Louise. In terms of upsets, Rin pulls one on Aria. I thought Aria would have a safe win but Rin barely edged her out.

Bad luck for Misaka. In a large upset, Kyou takes down Mato. What should have been an easy win over Kyou turned into Kyou hammering Mato instead. It's pretty much a 55-45 match being completely reversed. Last Order also ended up droping her match against Hinagiku. Although in this case I expected it to be close and it was fairly close just with Hinagiku winning instead of Last Order like I expected. Misaka is going to need some miracles in Topaz 7 or one heck of a necklace match performance. Neither is really out of the question.
As mush as I would like, I doubt Mikoto can get the same miracle that she did in Round 1. That was more of a chance to see if Kanade could be beaten than a rally cry for the necklace, else her SDO wouldn't be so bad. Best case scenario, Mikoto repeats Emerald necklace round, utterly crushing all the other girls, and still being short because of SDO gap.

And doing the math with some guesstimation, there might be about of 30-40 something SDO point gap between her and Mashiro. Meaning something like a 10 - 14 voting percentage point gap for Mikoto to win. Assuming about 10k votes, that's a 1000-1400 vote gap... I'm doubting it can be done. Not without a Topaz 1 style turn-out.

There might be many pair-votes for Mikoto and Last Order in Emerald Necklace match. If this is the fact, Mikoto cannot expect such boost again in Topaz Necklace match.

Looks like Post Season contenders are set without the need of the next round.

I'm not completely hellbent on Shana. It's a plus that she won, but I'm not to enthusiastic as to a fair amount of the rest of the results. Yay for Shana, and yay for Kirino, but pretty much the rest of the results were shit. In my opinion, anyway. And my opinion doesn't matter in this case, so feel free to ignore it, please.

Honestly, at this point I care less about the necklace match. If Mikoto gets a boost and win, I'll throw a parade, but otherwise I'll prepared for her not getting Emerald, she beat Kanade, that will go down in my books for a while.

What I care about is Kanade v Kuroneko. This will determine the Diamond brackets. If Kanade wins by more than 54%, then she and Kuroneko will swap ranking. This will mean that Mikoto will have to beat Kuroneko in the semi's instead of Kanade. I'm not sure, but I think I'd prefer Mikoto v Kuroneko before a Mikoto v Kanade. Mikoto appears to have gained more strength than Kuroneko over the year and there last match-up was pretty close, Mikoto maybe could win without a flood of voters coming in, but if such a flood does come I'd prefer it'd happen in the finals and only once. Which means a Mikoto v Kanade final is preferred.

Also that would put Mikoto and Kanade as rank 1 and 2, which should be a more favorable seeding for the Tiara brackets.

Actually, maybe I want Mikoto to lose in the semi's and this is more likely in a Kanade v Mikoto semi. So I need Kanade (win or lose) to score less than 54% in Topaz 7. This would put them, I hope, on opposite sides of the brackets in the final. More chances for somebody in Nova to try their might against Kanade-sama.

Yeah but Kanade regularly goes at 60%+ in her matches. Its not out of the question.

And that doesn't really matter. Kanade's lost will at best put her in 3rd and bump Mikoto to 2nd, but they will still meet in the semi's, which is set game as it is now.

I'm so conflicted. Probably the best way for Mikoto to take Tiara is for somebody in Nova to anti-vote out Kanade, resulting in support for another character to avenge her. If Mikoto is still in, she or Kuroneko are the likely next in lines. In that case, Mikoto has a chance. Otherwise it will come down to a likely Mikoto v Kanade at some point in the finals, the later the better (I think). For that to be a finals match, Mikoto must be 3rd or 4th in Diamond and Kanade 1st or 2nd, or vice-versus. But the vice-versus is less likely. TL:DR Mikoto must lose Diamond in the semi's to win the Tiara. ARGH!!

Against what kind of girls? Sure, maybe against Eucliwood or Yui or Shana. But I highly doubt she can even win against Kuroneko. It's literally a 50/50 chance.
