This is the thread to discuss specific matches and also where you can do some campaigning in whatever language of your choice. There will be a link to this thread from ISML home page, that is a link that will connect this thread to the page you will see at http://isml.moe" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; , perhaps directing some visitors to ISML home page to this thread. This means outside people may see what is being said here so think carefully before posting things here. Below is a general guideline. It is not a strictly enforced guideline, but if your post do stray too far from it, it may be edited or deleted without warning.

(a) No excessively negative comments, materials, nor campaigning.
We don't want the place to become trash pit
(b) For more broad discussion that involves multiple matches and characters consider using the general discussion thread
We want to differentiate this thread from the general discussion thread. Discussion about SDO, necklace chances, and postseason seeding are some of the things done better at general discussion thread. We will allow some of this broader discussion to be present in both this "match discussion" thread and "general discussion" thread, since it can't totally be avoided. Conversely, some light campaigning in "general discussion" thread will be permitted.
(c) keep the discussion and campaigning within matches that will happen in the period
If someone wants to campaign several weeks in advance, they should consider using the Character campaign board we already have
(d) You may do character or series specific campaigning
Series specific campaigning is something this thread allows
(e) You may use various medias and forms to discuss or campaigns
Being able to post pictures, art creations, related video clips and musics, suggesting rallying cries, and giving pep talk to supporters would be what this thread can do well
(f) Avoid repetitive post
No one likes to see something again and again
(g) Discussions and questions/answers about a match, character, or series is welcome
People should be allowed to do other things related to the matches.
(h) Non-English posts are allowed
We will be doing best to moderate all languages. Any one caught posting anything obscene or offensive will be punished
(i) You can "spam" with cute pictures of your character a little.
Make sure you don't overdo it, and try to avoid posting a picture someone already posted before.
(j) Make sure the picture you post will entirely fit inside 1000 X 1000 pixel square.
Since many people will be browsing from devices with small screens, it might be to your advantage to limit all dimension to be less than 800 pixels

This is the first time we are trying this thread and attempt to connect it to the casual voters so feel free to post about any suggestions to guidelines and other things about this thread.

Taiga vs KanadeShow

국제사이모에에서 가장 화려한 전적을 가진 후보를 논하라면 많은 사람들은 카나데부터 논하기 시작한다. 그런데 만약 다른 사이모에에서의 전적을 논하기 시작하면 빠지지 않고 거론되는 후보가 아이사카 타이가다. 카나데는 국사모에서 처음으로 2번 우승을 할 확률이 제일 높은 두 후보중 하나다. 타이가는 최고모에토너먼트와 일본 사이모에를 이미 이긴 적 있어서 국제사이모에 우승까지 하면 최초의 모에토너먼트 3관왕이 될 수 있다. 이 둘 모두 키가 상대적으로 작고 오해받기 쉬운 인물인데, 언행면에서 둘이 크게 대비된다. 다혈질적인 타이가와 조용하지만 끈질긴 카나데 둘 중 누구에게 2014년의 투표자들의 마음이 기울 지 궁금하다.

Battle of Little Giants
It is interesting that two characters of such different personality has both enjoyed so much success in many moe tournaments throughout the world, in the past and even now. While both are tiny in stature, they possess tremendous strength both physically and mentally. Each can be a leader when situation allows them. They both can be stubborn, but also are open to reasons. It might be possible that these commonalities are why these characters did so well in various saimoe events. Alas, they face each other today thus what now is important is the difference. If voters like the feisty, quick, palm-size cyclone with eye of the tiger more, this may allow Taiga to embark on a course that may let her be the first Triple Crown winner of Saimoe, as she already is a champion in Korea’s Best Moe Tournament and Japan’s Anime Saimoe Tournament. If voters like soft, quiet, and deliberate pillar of strength the hides terror of angels as well as a loving heart, then it will help Kanade continue her quest to become first character to win ISML twice. Let the battle begin.

I chose these two matches because I think it is possible for the underdogs in these matches to surprise us all. Taiga fans and Kanade fans better start campaigning because this match result can affect other characters in various ways, thus there is good chance the your opponent might be receiving some help from other factions.

Let me further elaborate in what might be on stake in the Taiga vs Kanade match.

Tachibana Kanade will likely face greatest anti-voting campaigning ever in ISML history because she is so close to becoming the first character to win the Tiara for the second time. If Kanade supporters does nothing, Kanade will continue to do well, but never be in Tiara Final match again. Kanade fans might be content on this face-saving gentle exit, but if they want to go for the legendary stature, they now have to stare down this anti-voting campaigning.

So, how can you beat a determined anti-voting campaigning by diverse people? You definitely can't do tortoise and wait it out, because such campaigning gets stronger as end approaches near, if not challenged. That still don't mean you need to go on active negative campaigning, anti-voting rallies, nor try to dishonor those seeking anti-votes, because you risk galvanizing them more with direct attacks at them. Your weapon remains positive campaigning, to make people less inclined to vote against Kanade, and hope in "secret" to achieve what Conan prescribes,

In other word, you must strive to achieve string of victories so great, that the anti-voters lose hope and abandon their cause for something they think is more achievable. You must totally dishearten them and scatter them in to the winds. Your enemies will pounce at any sign of weakness Kanade shows. They'll Kick You, Then They Beat You, Then They'll Tell You It's Fair.

So, you must try to win as much as you can no matter who your opponent is. Of course, you have to demonstrate your dominance without offending people, and always being a gracious victor who honors the opponent that was defeated. This fine balance of overwhelming display of superiority mixed in with humility towards others must be achieved if Kanade is to do well in postseason. Thus, Kanade must not take Taiga as easy prey. She must treat Taiga like one of the most dangerous opponent ever, and go all out campaigning. So, Kanade fans, Shock and Awe, Baby! Shock and Awe.

The timing has given Aisaka Taiga do what most character's supporters think is impossible, defeat Kanade. If the match happened in earlier periods, Taiga's chance would be bleak, but this is Topaz, the period where Kanade first tasted defeat in regular season. If Taiga fans give hope to those that wish to oppose Kanade, they will flock to Taiga's cause.

Anti-voting isn't the only thing Taiga should be thinking about. Taiga may enter necklace match if she keeps it close enough. In fact, if Taiga gets close, even if she loses, many people will flock to Taiga as someone that can do great things in 2014 postseason. Taiga can fight for the Topaz necklace if she does well enough. Taiga might do well enough in postseason to get to 3rd place to continue the following unique trend

2009: 7th Place. Record: (52-0-0-11) / (2-2)
2010: 6th Place. Record: (45-0-4) / (2-2)
2011: 5th Place. Record: (43-0-6) / (1-1)
2012: 4th Place League Finals

If Taiga beats Kanade, Taiga may have chance to become first ever Saimoe Triple Crown winner. If Taiga's fans campaign hard enough, she can become the best hope for those who don't want anyone to win the Tiara for the 2nd time. These "prevent repeat winner" faction people are looking for a champion to represent them. With good enough performance, Taiga can become that champion and receive a tremendous boost for the rest of the year. For that to happen, Taiga fans need to go full throttle, right now. Taiga was a champion before. She can be a champion again if she can regain that eye of the tigar. Remember, Eye of the Taiga!!! Eye of the Tiger, man!!!

My plan

Nakano Azusa vs Shiina Mashiro - Topaz 2
Saber vs Shiina Mashiro - Topaz 3 : This match may be called ripping the heart out of sirwence

Now, Rikka vs Eru is likely to be easy match to hype, but I feel we will need Topaz 4 ( four ) standing to start working on that, as if both are 4-0 at that point, we can have more meat to dig in for the scoop on the match.

Kurisu vs Shana is something we should start early, because Shana's exploit span entire history of ISML , Korea's Best Moe Tournament, and some China/Taiwan's Saimoe events. Kurisu is the reigning Queen of the North to some, so we may have many interesting to work with. First, can someone tell me what's at stake here other than postseason berth and postseason seeding? How much necklace consideration can this match have? Any past interesting matches? What's a good campaign song/music for Shana and good song/music for Kurisu ? Should we make a joke about Kurisu sounding like Crisu?

Of all the matches people requested, this one have the highest hill to climb. Indeed Shana is a legendary figure, thus it will take epic campaigning to get even close to her. For Makise Kurisu fans, this is the song I prescribe.

For Shana fans, they need to keep up the pressure. The apt names symphony by the Danish Composer Carl Nielsen, 'The Inextinguishable' , may be a good music to boost Shana fan's morale.

The epic-ness of this symphony may fit the Shana's epic accomplishments in Saimoe events. By the way, I think some Legend of Galactic Heroes fan may recognize this music.

Yes. Please, no SDO or match predictions (I mean, e.g. 56% or that sort of thing) here. And this is for SPECIFIC match campaigning in a day. For example, Nakano Azusa vs. Shiina Mashiro in Topaz 2. Or Tachibana Kanade vs. Misaka Mikoto in Topaz 7. Or a general series campaigning of the characters in a matchday. If one wants to talk about multiple matches, please go to the general discussion thread. So you can talk about why this match has importance for the winner (and maybe the loser), campaign, post pictures, videos, that sort of thing.

Well, "spectulation" is a bit hard to define here, since talking about possible effects of the outcome of the match can be, but please, no statistics such as Z-scores, fantasy picks, or whatsoever here.

Feel free to campaign for any character, and just write or post pictures or videos for any match!

It's time for us to take this seriously, because the decisive part of the year is coming. We can't continue hiding and trusting the work of a few of us. Let's keep surprising everyone with our devotion to Kurumi, even in the most dire circumstances. We are many, we won't be beaten. But ALL of us have to work towards it, because we can make it possible, but we need every single bit of help YOU, dear Kurumi fan, can grant us. And for you, dear DaL fan, you who sniped Kurumi against Kotori or Yoshino because she's an antagonist... I'm sorry to tell you you just helped the ones that wanted to keep the series you love from getting a Necklace. Results are there, and with your negative to vote Kurumi in the NM and the sniping against Kotori and Yoshino, you have made Kurumi lose three necklaces she could have won. Please realise your mistake and support the best DaL chance, which is no other than Kurumi. Of course you should vote your favourite char, but at least don't snipe her unnecesarily. Takanashi Rikka vs Kurousagi match seems to be the match between highest ranked contestants in the Nova division. Can someone tell us what's at stake for Rikka and Kurousagi? Also can someone show us good reason to vote for Rikka or Kurousagi ? ( note : you can tell or show us reasons for only one of the two, not both )

If all things stay as is Takanashi Rikka will face Nibutani Shinka in the Sapphire Circlet, which gives her a solid chance for qualifying for the Tiara finals. Winning would allow Rikka to secure such a position for an easy road to the tiara. Should Kurousagi win, there is a good chance Rikka and Kurousagi will face each other again at the Sapphire Circlet. Since Kurousagi would have the momentum in this match, there is a chance for Kurousagi to move onto the Tiara final in replace of Rikka. Even if they do not meet, Rikka would face even tougher challenges in the likes of Yatogami Tohka and Aoyama Nanami, who are just as hungry for the Tiara as she is. It's all about the road to ~~Wrestlemania~~ the Tiara at this point, so if any of them slack off, it will be game over for one (or even both after seven matches) of these combatants.

What happens during postseason will have an affect on the stella auto-nomination rule discussion at the end of the year, so sorry but I can't give a good answer to the questions.
