Nagisa winning was a pleasant surprise, too bad for Hitagi - this won't help her hold a spot in the Top 16. Although, Nagisa looks within range of the Top 16, it's going to be very hard for her to pull it off.
C.C. continues to surprise me, she came within 130 votes of Kagami. Perhaps the onset of 3rd season, is seeing her popularity boost?
I'm also surprised how Mafuyu and Rin didn't go to town against their opponents did, like how Tomoyo did to Kotomi.

Looks like I made it back in time to see an interesting upset occur. I didn't expect Nagisa to win, but I did want to see it happen. I assumed no one brought up the series Akane was in for years (even though I saw some of it years ago) so no one was going to remember her. Good thing I was wrong there as well.

Well, I can't count on Kagami sucking, so it has to be Rin and Hitagi. In that sense, I've no complaints.

2 surprising results. Hitagi should not lose to Nagisa; she'll need strong matches against some other top 16 people to stay up there. Hoping Bakemonogatari 15 comes out soon and more is announced. Exhibition was totally unpredictable--a virtual unknown beating one of the classic, and still well-known, examples of Tsundere from a ridiculously popular show. Not that I'm a huge fan of Akane, but I expected a 70% blowout.

Gotta love the results...but I still cannot believe that Nagisa of Clannad just scored an up-set win over Hitagi of Bakemonogatari...not only that, Yui-chan just climbed to #13 (Number of Death) because of that win by Nagisa...oh well, anything can happen...

Some amazing things have happened since the schedule was released
The characters from Kyoto Animation did surprise me ……I am glad to see that Naigsa won her match,but it was really abnormal that Hitagi lost.So as the match that Minori lost to Tsukasa in Sapphire Round 1.

I knew Nagisa vs Hitagi would be close, but I didn't think Nagisa would actually pull off a win. Hitagi is right on the borderline of making the Top 16 so she can't really afford upsets like this. Nagisa has a chance at making the Top 16 but she'll need two or three more upsets to pull it off. Tomoyo and Mafuyu really hammered their opponents. Mafuyu isn't too much stronger than Minatsu so I didn't think Minatsu would get SFF'd this badly. Nagi showed some signs of overperformance on Maria but it wasn't nearly as much as I would have expected. Fuuko ended up doing surprisingly well against Konata. I'm not sure if that was a fluke, a Konata drop or a Fuuko gain. I guess we'll see in Emerald 4.
