Pay attention in the forums for the various series and some of the characters get along with their rivals stupendously compared to their fans. One of the pairings I'm interested in seeing, the girls are considered the best of friends in the series, and the rivalry is fierce between their fans (I've heard some of the fans actually destroyed the magazine when the guy admitted he loved one of them).

As long as the schedule is shorter and not too overly complicated, I am fine with it. I guess one of my main concerns is having the nomination period take place over 2 weeks. Is that length necessary, as it would take a major toll on the staff who is keeping track of all of the names and numbers (not to mention the various versions of writing any name)? I guess one week is not enough as this is a new system and all...?

The two week is mostly because we're changing the date of our nominations from January to March. People might forget to nominate in March so we're giving 2 weeks for stragglers.

So we are literally doing nothing but waiting till March?
Not even including Winter 2015, who might finish at March with 10-12 episodes?.

In terms of voters, most likely. However, I guarantee you that the staff will be extremely busy trying to set up for the new structural changes. The fact that we're even adding a male division means that most of the automatic programming that was set up for ISML 2012-2014 is now outdated, and changes to these programs have to be done. Unfortunately, with only one senior programmer on hand (the Commissioner), it's going to take a while.

The timing is also beneficial in terms of promoting. Unlike the past years where we have barely a month to promote the site and remind everyone that this is happening, we have a span of three months to have everything settle down and then remind everyone that this is here. If there was such a thing as a promotional committee (to an extent, is essentially all of us), this group would post things about ISML's structural changes in other forums that would be interested in events like this. In this case, we have two months to have current voters get into the new voting system while garnering attention for new people who come here for the first time or have participated/are interested in existing moe competitions. So, there's that, if anything.

That's a nice idea, and in fact Regal was starting with this:
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=5274

Guess we can build on that, seems the Community here can construct quite a broad network ^^

Though a few important points I'd like to draw attention to, from the experience of the Chinese group here transferring information here to Baidu.
1. Organization is important. Deciding what and what not to post shall be organized. We once had too many people posting bits here and there without knowing what each other were doing or already done, and the result was that information was all over the place and created confusion.
2. Only post confirmed and final decisions, especially concerning tournament structural or operational changes. Never post some crude ideas or suggestions by the Staff. It's a culture here that the Staff would throw out ideas for the Community to discuss, and hence make changes or maybe even withdraw the idea, but this habit here is not known to other communities. Posting information that is subject to future changes will cause confusion.
3. Translations shall be accurate, adhering to the original wordings as much as possible without adding in too much subjective portions.
4. Finally, a more vague one, filter the information that you actually post to the forums... Some contents might be OK here, but depending on the actual culture of each forum there might be unexpected problems. I guess that would require understanding of the particular community. This might be difficult to understand, but it's just we encountered multiple problems when posting on Baidu and people respond quite unexpectedly, so I thought I might just remind all to be careful ><

As much as I hate ISML (and every other moe/popularity contest), I have to give you credit Khold...You put a lot of effort and dedication into this contest.

^Isn't it still "Nova Conestant = girl who has not appeared in ISML for at least 2 years"? Or, are you referring to the number of open spots remaining after auto-nominations, which I think is the same as last year? By the way, how many nomination slots do we have for Nova? Speaking of which, is the nominations for Stella pictures or a drop down menu, since, as the years go by, the number of images will increase?

Hmmm... Enough changes, a division only male characters and a longer schedule.

I look forward to see the 2015 edition of ISML!

IX. Necklace and Pendant Showdown

J. The winner of a Necklace is guaranteed a slot in Postseason, Phase I.

So, are we under the assumption that someone will not pull a Sakurazaki Setsuna anytime soon, or...?

Well,

1) In Setsuna's defense, she really was powerful during 2008 Topaz period when Vietnam Negima fanclub supported her. If the fanclub stayed around, I do not doubt that Setsuna would have won some matches during postseason of 2008

2) Since 2009, we never had a necklace winner not make the postseason. I believe we can maintain voter number to be sufficiently high enough to prevent as wild a fluctuation in strength level as 2008 .

3) Many fans pour their hearts out for the necklace. I think it is a nice gesture to reward them for it.

4) This necklace clause will give someone who was struggling in first half of regular season, another path to postseason. If someone wins the necklace in Topaz period, I think it is worth giving that character a chance to prove herself in postseason .

5) This clause do give more meaning to the necklace. Since there were so many big changes in ISML due to the necklace, I think it is time to recognize that people give much meaning to it.

No. We are saying that anyone pulling a Setsuna deserves a spot in Postseason.

I remember this. I remember the Vietnamese forum board that participated throughout Aquamarine and Topaz just to give the Negima characters a good showing. Then they just upped and left for a different voting tournament, leaving Setsuna (and Evangeline McDowell and Konoka Konoe) to rot for the rest of the tournament.

Love the new necklace clause. This ensures that nobody is mathematically eliminated from the postseason until right at the end of the regular season.
