Seems that here are all Railgun funs. Am I the only who is worrying about Tenshi? Really hope she can get the final title since it may be her first but last chance, without support from new animes...

I'm more worried about Railgun right now. Not unless there will be Index season 3 or Railgun season 2, Mikoto might decline after this year. Anything short of the heavenly tiara will be a disappointment all over again.

Mikoto will disappear. SE will come down to Shana and Kanade.

#5 Shana will be in Kanade's bracket I guess. So Shana will face Kanade in the semifinals. 1 vs 8, 4 vs 5 in a group. 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6 in the other. Assuming the top 8 make it to the next round.

I'm glad Mikoto came close to Kanade but that doesn't make up for Mio's and Hina's loss :(

usually, the tree ( if we follow how ATP tours etc ) should look like this :

1 x 16 - A
---------------------A x B = p
8 x 9 - B
------------------------------------------- p x q = x
5 x 12 - C
--------------------- C x D = q
4 x 13 - D

-------------------------------------------------------------------- x vs y = Tiara Winner

3 x 14 - E
----------------------E x F = r
6 x 11 - F
------------------------------------------- r x s = y
7 x 10 - G
---------------------G x H = s
2 x 15 - H

Barring any miracles, it will be

Kanade x Hina
Azusa x Shana
Yuki x Kuroneko
Mikoto x Taiga

How this gets interesting :
Kanade x Hina = easy win
Azusa x Shana = up in the air, Shana has the upper hands with ShS III
Yuki x Kuroneko = Kuroneko will give Yuki a run for her money, but Yuki will win by 52-54%
Railgun x Taiga = Taiga might pull 46-48% votes over Railgun, but Railgun will win.

Which gives us the semis of :
Kanade x ( Azusa or Shana )
Railgun x Yuki

Then, its up in the air.

Wow Mikoto got way closer than I expected. I would've been happy if she got above 45% and she got 49%!! :D I'm impressed.

Also, There WILL be more material in the Raildex anime, but I'm not sure how prominent Mikoto will be. It's quite likely that she won't disappear any time soon (though Shana will probably win this year)

Wow Mikoto I'm pleased at the amount of votes she racked in. Kanade got her perfect season too so that's good too.
In other news, Hirasawa Yui triumphed over Kirino and got into the necklace round. Best result ever.

Wow, Mikoto came closer than I expected. Seems like Tenshi can be beaten after all. Shana really gave Hina a beatdown, seems like she's starting to show her real strenght just in time.

I think Kanade, Shana and Mikoto will be the 4 real contenders for the tiara. Shana already got stronger these last few weeks and will probably get another small boost from season III, so I think this will put her a little bit above Mikoto. Since Mikoto came awefully close to Kanade, I think that both Shana and Mikoto will have a chance to beat her. Yuki and Taiga will be the dark horses this year, I think.

YAY for Shiina <3 Boo at Hina-tan, Hitagi, Yuu, and Sera losing though :<
lol at 3-way vote split for K-On! Poor K-On!

Torn between voting for Hina-tan♥ or Yuu♥ though... Yuu has a significantly higher SDO, but of the other girls, it's likely that Hina-tan has the higher chance of getting more votes, unless K-On! somehow manages to band together under one girl... despite the fact that all three of them have the same SDO lawl... not to mention that Haruhi already has a Diamond Necklace. I'd love for either Hina or Yuu to get it though ♥u♥

Revenge Time~

If that's the case, then there's no need for a tiara match since Kanade/Shana will occur in the semifinals. Thinking about it, Mikoto's best chance at the tiara may have to go through Kanade because of (1) Shana season 3 and (2) Should Kanade beat Shana, it's possible the Shana support might go to Mikoto.

However, after seeing the results from Shana/Hina's match (which gives me more reason that she doesn't need my vote anymore) and the fact that there was finally an opponent who could at least challenge Kanade, I might have to give the advantage to Shana should she face Kanade.

Mikoto can choose her opponent (the weaker of the two probably) for the finals but she must concentrate on her matches first. Right now, she has to go through Charlotte, Taiga and Yuki.

With ShS III already in full swing by the time Postseason hits, Shana's strength should rival Kanade and she might even surpass the Railgun ( strength-wise ). With approximately 1 year 5 months since AB! concluded, Kanade's power should start to decay ( Railgun has shown that she is not that almighty after all, with her narrow lost against kanade ). Shana might even be able to spring a suprise when she is up against Kanade.

Sorry, I forgot to grade these.
Eclairs wrote: 1: f(n) = 2n^2 + 5n - 12 - eq. 1
2: lets make a 2nd equation to define odd and even .
3: [ odd ] = 2x+1 , where -infinity < x < infinity , x is an integer. - eq. 2
4: [ even ] = 2x , where -infinity < x < infinity, x is an integer. - eq. 3
5: from the equation 1 : lets call 2n^2 = A . it can also be defined as 2x, where x = n^2, hence A is even ---- 1st premise
6: : lets call 5n = B, we can the redefine B as 2*[2n] + n, and lets redefine 2n as N, this gives B a new equation of B = 2N + n
7: : lets call 12 = C, C can easily be defined from equation 2 as C = 2*[6] , hence C is even ---- 2nd premise
8: From mathematics : [ even ] - [ even ] + [ even ] = [ even ] , [ even] - [ odd ] + [ even ] = [ odd ] = 2nd Premise
9: Proof : [2p] - [2q] + [ 2r] = 2[p-q+r] and it satisfy equation 2, where [p-q+r] = x
10: : [2k]+[2l+1]- [2m] =2[k+l-m] + 1 = 2[k+l-m]+1 and satisfy equation 3, where [k+l-m] = x
11: From the equation 1 ( simplified ) : A + B - C. For A + B - C to satisfy equation 2 : A, B and C must be [ even ], with A and C are already [even ] ,
12: We can the condense the proving into the B part.
13: B = 5n = 2[2n] + n = 2N + n. for B to be [ even ] , n must be [ even ], from the 2nd premise

< edit 1 : copied the wrong equation, it was supposed to be 2n^2 + 5n - 12, not 2n^2 - 5n + 12 : but the proof is still the same ;) >
Overall the proof is correct but contains parts that is not absolutely neccessary. A meanie professor might deduct small partial credit for 'lack of elegance and simplicity', or in another word 'over-elaboration'. I do believe this has enough difference from proofs submitted earlier. I also don't think we have such thing as partial cookies. I would give this proof 9.2/10 , so Eclairs deserves a cookie for this.
amdrag wrote: 1: III. We know these things to be true:

2: 1) even + odd = odd
3: 2) even + even = even
4: 3) odd + odd = even
5: 4) odd * even = even
6: 5) odd * odd = odd
7: 6) even * even = even

8: 2n²+5n-12 (assume n is an integer)

9: 2n² must be even, regardless of n's value. If n is odd, it's even * odd * odd, which must be even (#4). If n is even, it's even * even * even, which must be even (#6).

10: 5n may be even or odd, depending on if n is odd. If n is odd, 5n is odd (#5). If n is even, 5n is even (#4).
11: -12 is even.

12: We know that 2n² and -12 are even, so their sums must be even (#2). All that leaves unknown is the value of 5n.

13: If 5n is odd, then the equation is even + odd + even, which must be odd (#1). We also know that if 5n is odd, then n is odd (see earlier), so if 2n²+5n-12 is odd, then n must be odd.

14: If 5n is even, then the equations is even + even + even, which must be even (#2). We also know that if 5n is even, then n is even (see earlier), so if 2n²+5n-12 is even, then n must be even.
A very critical and cynical person might claim amdrag's proof as mere repeat of fujibayashi's proof submitted earlier. I do take notice to extent some relevant details were provided. While these details are not neccessary, unlike the case in Eclairs , amdrag was in position where he has to show something different from all the proofs that was submitted before him, thus I think I can say he was forced to 'over-elaborate'. Having given him some defense for not being simple enough, some points still can be made.
1. There were ways to lay out his 6 cases in line 2 - 7 in much shorter ways. Still it is instructive to show the all 6 cases for those who aren't the quickest in handling mathematical arguments. I would give 2% extra credit for this.
2. Line 9, however is guilty of over-elaboration, thus having potential to cloud the simple truth that 2 times any integer is even. A better approach would been to claim n^2 is an integer if n is an integer. 3% Deduction here.
3. I would have merged line 12 and 13 to emphasize the continuity of argument. This again is in light of those who harbors some doubts about their mathematical understanding as these people might spend too much time thinking about line 12 and not see 13. A good proof for this problem is one where even average 5th grader can understand it without spending too much time in wrong places. 1% deduction here.
4. Instead of (see earlier), I would have continued to use the expression of (#5) and (#4) again for those who doubts their own mathematical abilities. 1% deduction here.

So I would give this proof 9.7/10. amdrag's proof was already accepted, thus he should keep his cookie. He should be praised for taking time to list line 2 - 7 for everyone.
