If I remember right an english patch came out recently for Tomoyo After: It's a Wonderful Life. However, I don't think I want to play it because unlike Clannad, it's a dirty game. Kinda ruins it for me.

Comparing to other companies, Key doesn't really put much emphasis on the ecchi stuff in their R-18 games...

That's true. I'm probably gonna play it anyways, after I finish the super long Clannad game.

Played through Kira Kira.
SpoilerShow
In all honesty, I enjoyed Kirari's first route the most, as it leaves a lot for impact for someone who is very fond of music. Things like this can happen in the music world, and it really is about giving your performance more than 100% and never backing down. I feel Shikanosuke's pain throughout the game as he went through her route.

I started playing Kanon last week, and I just finished Nayuki's route.

Since I felt Nayuki got the short end of the stick in the anime, I decided to do her route first. As I wasn't sure how the branches worked for this game (as far as how they affected who you ended up with at the end), I decided to focus solely on Nayuki and ended up totally ignoring Ayu's and Makoto's flags, only getting Shiori's introduction, and avoiding Mai's initial flag altogether (meaning I didn't even see her for the entire game).
Nayuki's route (ending, among other things); comparison to major…Show
As a result, Nayuki's route seemed bland and somewhat uneventful (no pun intended). The one and only sex scene for her route also felt disjointed and awkwardly written. Having played Lilly's route in Katawa Shoujo, I must say the sex scenes were much better written and felt like they were actually part of the game. For Nayuki's, the transition into the scene was seemless, but the transition out of it was jarring. I guess I can't fault Key too much though since this was their first visual novel.

Also, the ending felt more hollow than what was portrayed in the anime. Of course, with the anime, KyoAni blended all the routes together while having Ayu's route tie them together. I must say, that was masterfully done and felt all the more gratifying when Ayu helped everyone in the end. With the VN though, I had already bid farewell to Ayu a little more than halfway in, so there was no grandiose miracle. Nayuki simply got over her heroic BSOD over what happened to Akiko and finally responded to Yuuichi. I don't have a problem with that since overcoming despair is usually a personal matter and shows great inner strength. That simply helps build Nayuki's character. What I did find disappointing was that we then timeskip to the beginning of spring and Akiko's all better and there's no explanation. We simply have to imagine that she got better during the timeskip. Again, not as romantic as Ayu causing a miracle in the anime.

And while I was eager to see things in Nayuki's route that didn't happen in the anime, I was somewhat disappointed after the fact that all it amounted to were a couple of dates and a few nights of studying. On second thought, though, I'm betting the slice-of-life approach was intentional so when Akiko's accident occurred, it was much more shocking. Too bad I've watched the anime first and was already expecting Akiko's accident so the effect was very much lost... Even so, I was still unsure how it would turn out afterwards, so there's that at least.
I really liked the fact that KyoAni used all of the BGM as well as the OP and ED themes from the visual novel. Having watched the anime first, hearing each different BGM for the first time in the novel was quite enjoyable. And since I have the voice patch, it was even better.

So now for my second route. Trying to decide between Makoto (my favorite) and Shiori (my third favorite).
Nayuki's my second favorite~

At some point, I plan on mimicking the flags that KyoAni "took" for the anime and seeing where I come out after I have everyone's route unlocked.

Started reading this. I'll be honest here: the main aspect that attracted me was the art, because Misaki Kurehito is one of my favorite artists out there, as well as Kuroya Shinobu. Both kick ass. But so far it's a good game. Main heroine reminds me of Tachibana Kanade. Oh, and one of the girls is voiced by Kawashima Rino. Fucking awesome.

Oh, and the music kicks ass, too.

Mirai no Kimi to, Subete no Uta ni

While I'm here, since the last time I posted in this thread I've managed to finish Katawa Shoujo, Ever17, Little Busters!, Muv-Luv (+Alternative) and Saya no Uta. At the moment, I'm halfway through G-Senjou no Maou. It's quite good so far, although I have a feeling it'll be getting even better from here on. Also love how the soundtrack almost completely comprises of arrangements of well-known classical music. Some of them are actually pretty hard to pick.

G-Senjou no Maou completed. That ending... wow, just wow. Worth reading for that alone.
I'm thinking Sharin or Tsukihime next.

Yes, though I believe there are fanmade patches out there that skip the H-scenes completely, though I don't think there's one for Heaven's Feel.

Word. That ending made me shed manly tears.

Also, I highly recommend both of those VNs. Sharin has a lot of narrative similarities to G-Senjou, so I'm sure you'll like it. Tsukihime sheds light on various elements in the Nasuverse, so it's worth checking out if you're a fan. It's also pretty interesting if you've read/watched Kara no Kyoukai before, though neither series have any connections with each other (even though Ryougi Shiki is a playable character in Melty Blood: Actress Again).

I partial patch for Rewrite has been released. It translates the common route, as well as all the character routes. Moon and Terra routes, as well as the Oppai ending, are still in translation. Get it here.

Patches have also been released for the 6th and 8th Sonohana games. Get them here. With this, only the 9th and 10th games have to be translated, as well the Michael no Otometachi.
