Finally time for the new Card Captor Sakura anime! I really like how they didn't change too much the original art style. I'm not expecting any wonderful plot, but just seeing my cute Sakura doing cute things with her Clow Cards should be enough.

Also, I'm reading Citrus. It's a nice shoujo-ai, but nothing incredible. I think I'll watch it anyway for the yuri :3

Could also watch Poputepipikku, if those are short episodes. It might be very fun ^^

Is that a new Fate? Again? I'll probably pass on this one...

Oh look. A new Isekai anime. How original.

Looks like it's gonna be a trashy season. Will only watch certain episodes of Last Encore for Nursery Rhyme and Gawain.

Edit: totally forgot about Violet Evergarden. It's been so hyped up so i'm not sure if it's gonna live up to expectations. If anything, at least Koyasu has a main role in it ♡

When I would have caught up the previous seasons (almost 180 episodes to watch), there is my list for Winter 2018 and the reasons of my choices (with my highest expectations in bold):

New viewing:
Gintama.: Shirogane no Tamashii-hen => The last arc I'm sad :(
Overlord II => I don't expect much but I hope that it will better than the first season)
Kokkoku => The manga is interresting and short so I will watch the anime
Citrus => because hum...
Darling in the FranXX => I like the work and the art of Trigger
Violet Evergarden => I will watch because of the studio
Fate/Extra Last Encore => Because Fate and Shaft
ReLIFE: Kanketsu-hen => The first season was interesting even if the pace was irregular
Märchen Mädchen => To make my simulcast subscription profitable
Hakumei to Mikochi => To make my simulcast subscription profitable
Grancrest Senki => To make my simulcast subscription profitable
Slow Start => To make my simulcast subscription profitable
Mitsuboshi Colors => To make my simulcast subscription profitable

Will continue:
Mahoutsukai no Yome => I continue because I have started but not more
Garo: Vanishing Line => To make my simulcast subscription profitable
Image
A great thanks to my Secret Santa 2017 for having made me this beautiful signature. (Rem is very happy)

Sakura Clear Card-hen Episode 1: The nostalgia is so strong in this one. The original CCS anime aired 20 years ago! It was on French television when I wasn't even 10 and I rewatched everything 8 years ago and yet... It feels like I watched the last episode yesterday. Such a brilliant first episode, full of nostalgic fan service, showing us all the characters we love and yet introducing the plot (even if it seems very similar to the second part of the original for now ^^) I'm very happy to have Sakura back after all these years.

Citrus Episode 1: Very faithful to the manga and I like the VAs. So, a nice yuri anime, even if the plot isn't incredible. Mei is an annoying girl.

Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san Episode 1: That was very cute and funny. I love the interactions between these two characters! Can they really go on like this with 13 episodes though?

Pop Team Epic / Poputepipikku Episode 1: I expected a shitty funny anime and I got my shitty anime, only it's not very funny. Will give it a chance with one or two more episodes.

Still watching 3-gatsu no Lion season 2. That episode 34 was awesome. I really want to protect Hina-chan, definitely best girl.

Also, Gintama entering their final arc! I'm so excited to see the end (if the author isn't trolling us once more...)

I'm bored,
so here's my Winter 2018 anime ranking based on "how am I looking forward to watch them every week" and my personal impression and rating towards them
Note that I'm not a rich guy who can watch all airing anime.
Also, Season 2 tends to get lower ranking due to me wanting to give new shows a chance.
1. Sora yori mo Tooi BashoShow
What was a continuation of Madhouse-Kadokawa business partnership for No Game No Life: Zero is an anime that deserves to stand on its two feet. (Although I just know it won't :( I really hope I am wrong.)
A great show that balances slice-of-life style comedy with some serious teenage drama, augmented with mostly great characters, pretty decent dialogues, good animation, good music, best-in-the-business dub, and great management of all said elements to create a watch you just can't help wonder about what's next after each episode ends.

9/10
2. Karakau Jouzu no Takagi-sanShow
As, some would say, "bullying" =D, a great romantic comedy with only two main casts: (and a bunch of others from a spin-off series whom I always skip)
The first, is the best example of a smugdere, Takagi-san, is a very smart girl whose constant teasing of the main character and smug is 30% of the anime, and her trying her best to advance their relationship with him is 20% of the anime.
The second is your standard thickheaded male mc in a romance anime whose idiocy and hilarious face expressions are the other 50% of the anime.

Also taka8 proves it again that she's the bae-est thing in the industry at the moment.

Hmmm~/10
3. Yuru CampShow
Cute girls camping with lively characters, most notably are the two powerful main characters (and I do mean main characters:)
One can carry the screen when she has to, but can step back to allow other characters to shine when she needs to.
and the other one has Nao Touyama as-usual amazing voicework behind her.

and oh yeah, it also has a great tutorial of how to camping.
and great sceneries of camping spots.
and great expression of the MC eating.
and great OST: OP, ED, BGM alike.

8/10
4. Koi wa Ameagari no You niShow
Romance anime between a highschool girl recently-rejuvenated from having her dream broken and a 45-years-old timid, inconfident, but kind and with soft-demeanor cafee manager (with one son and recently divorced.)
Same as Karakai Jouzu, how "effortful" is the main heroine (main character) in her love conquest is the main reason why this anime, in my humble opinion, deserves a spot in the list of one of the better noitaminA anime.
It allows a good plot to evolve behind her. In this anime's case: one with a melancholic tone and constant foreshadowing of the impossibility of this romantic adventure.

other than that:
Wit Studio with a 90's style character visual design but a very modern coloring, particularly on the eyes.

8/10
5. Mitsuboshi ColorShow
Jackass loli anime.
The closest comparison to this anime is Ichigo Mashimaro, except that it's more rude.
Three pretty decent main characters (if you're not a nitpick or an idiot SJW, or both) who spend their days terrorizing the town under the pretext of "protecting" it:
"The leader" who mostly plays straightman and the most normal of the bunch. Kind demeanor, most girly, and honest to the point of blatant.
Unko Prophet Sacchan. A mostly rude, carefree, loves to act like a rude and blatant idiot, and slightly tomboyish girl, who actually is the smartest of the three, as she will only show tact when it really matters to those whom she really cares. Other than that: cringe comedy if you only see what's in front of you.
And a "to-be psychopath" and a game-addicted girl who always act smart, but is actually the biggest idiot of the three.
She and the Great Prophet drive the plot mostly (as she's the one who pays most attention to what is shown at face and what might lies behind it,) with the leader following them around.

The charm? First they're cute. Second, how deep they actually assess an issue before returning back to their today's children mindset is astonishing. Third, unless you're a "morally-upright" bs person, it's very fun. Fourth, wall breaking comment on today's society.

Unko Prophet Sacchan/10
6. Hakumei to MikochiShow
Lerche can't ruin an episodic show.
Plus, Lerche has quite an entreating cuts. The team of Kuzu no Honkai is definitely behind this.

and yeah, great ED song.

7/10
7. UMU animeShow
Don't expect great plot. It's one of the worse product on the franchise. (Well, but if you're a Fate fan, you're going to find it entertaining anyway.)
The only reason I watch this is because Nero-Sama.

UMU/10
8. Dagashi Kashi S2Show
Same as the first season, except shorter.
It's fine, though. Animation is way better than expected.
and as long as I have Aya-nee voicework, I'm satisfied.

7/10
9. Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card arcShow
So far, it hasn't pick up, the plot.
But Sakura and Syaoran shipping plus Tomoyo's commentary on it is enough meat for now.

7/10
10. Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-sanShow
Ramen culinary adventure anime.
I'm here for girls slurping.

and Shiena Nishizawa song for ED
and ra ra ra ramen daisuki koizumi-san~

6/10
11. Ryuuou no OshigotoShow
Loli + shogi.
Except, there's no shogi.

The plot used to be okay when there's only one main heroine.
While the second heroine has Ayaneru voice, she's your standard tsundere arrogant ojou-sama and is boring as f.
But the next arc (finally) revolves around the main character, who is a 16-years-old shogi professional,
so while I don't expect actual shogi, at the least I expect things to pick up.

6/10
13. Death March kara Hajimeru Isekai SeikatsuShow
Everything before and without my shotacon middle-aged mind age 11-years-old flesh age Yuuki Aoi-voiced Tachibana Arisa isekaismartphone/10
Everything with Arisa 8/10
14. Grancrest SenkiShow
Shit show with low production value and great attempt by the director to cover for its lack of time and low staff morale weaknesses.
The main heroine is also moe.

4/10
15. CitrusShow
Yuri fanservice and shoujo romance.
and nano.Ripe OP.
I look forward for porn.

5/10
16. Violet EvergardenShow
KyoAni next masterpiece in animation which isn't a masterpiece at the other department.
Mostly affected by anime original characters, anime original chapters, while the other chapters that are actually adapted from the book are cut and dried.
Netflix Original Work, as they like to call. The prime example of how the need of money can destroy a great beauty.
But well, it's still a KyoAni anime, so the episodic drama is still very enjoyable.

7/10
17. Toji no MikoShow
Messy.
But tbh it's not that it's not interesting. Just too messy to be enjoyable.
Plus the two main characters are annoying as f,

4/10
18. Darling in the FranXXShow
Reason people look forward to this show: 002 naked scene, Trigger studio animation, "good plot"
Reason I look forward to this: nothing, tbh I only watch this bcs Saturday don't have many "surface anime".

Other than that: it's clear that they have the utmost power in making this anime.
Writing is clearly a pro, great animation, great mix of seiyuus some young and talented others well-established and proven, great OST, prime time airing hours, naked thot with aids, etc.
But how hard it tries to look authentic and original and then it fails spectacularly is quite a scene.
Especially with how cancerous its fanbase atm + Sony actually putting budget in this anime, that they even have enough to acquire a large cyber army to campaign for this anime (and anti-campaign other anime) and break all anime polls atm.

But plot is picking up. So who knows?

6/10
19. Overlord S2Show
Lizard porn and war.
But we're finally moving on from that horrid vol and getting the real meat of this season.

5/10
20. Slow StartShow
A lot of people seem to like this.
It's your seasonal A-1 sol (or romance, often) comedy.
But tbh, I find it boring, especially since it's an A-1 sol/romance comedy. I've seen better products from this line-up
Tama is fun. Eiko fap material. That NEET lady pretty okay. The rest are boring.

5/10
21. Marchen MadchenShow
First episode is good.
Everything after that is utter shit.
Good narrative and a plot with potential, but unfortunately plain MC.
While the rest of the important cast are just... *facepalm*

3/10
Hopeless. BeatlessShow
Started out "solid, but boring", the plot is just picking up and this has 24 episodes, so there's potential.
Lacia moe especially with Nao Touyama voicework behind her.
Great OP, great ED.

The rest are okay at best for now.

6/10

Already a recap at episode 6. nvm this anime is, like its name, beatless
-----unranked----
Miira no KaikataShow
I have no idea how to rank this

Mii-kun/10
I feel like I'm forgetting something. I wonder what.
And no, no Pop Team Epic, I haven't continue pass first episode.
Giving his love for life, and died dreaming about her in the end. A real happy man, right? ~
