This thread is for discussion on Bakemonogatari and any of the prequel or sequel novels that get adapted.

ANN is reporting that the prequel Kizumonogatari will be adapted into a movie and will be released next year.

ANN is also reporting that the sequel Nisemonogatari will be adapted into a TV series and will debut in January.

Obvious ISML-related question aside, I've been waiting for someone to make a Bakemonogatari thread, because I've been itching to ask something about Nadeko (spoiler tagged since it's from the light novels):

What's the deal with her going yandere in the "Nadeko Medusa" arc? (Based on what I read on TV Tropes' Bakemonogatari character sheet.) And who is she yandere for? Koyomi? Hope somebody can bring me up to speed on this...

I'm not familiar with the novels, but I watched the anime and I absolutely loved every second of it. This is one anime I want to watch again someday.

Prob not much. Kizumonogatari happens before Bakemonogatari, and so Hitagi shouldn't even appear. Nisemonogatari focus on the Araragi sisters, so I wouldn't expect much screen time for her.

Aw, nuts. But if this opens a chance for the other -monogatari characters to enter ISML next year, I guess I don't mind the new series not boosting Hitagi's chances. (Though a few cameos from her in Niseimonogatari would help.)

ANN is reporting that Maaya Sakamoto and Shinichiro Miki will be joining the cast of Nisemonogatari.

Maaya's inclusion means there's no way I'm not watching this now.

As if simulcasting has ever stopped fansub groups from subbing. All it's done is make fansubbers lazy and just start with the simulcast subs and making minor changes to them.

I would love to be tutored by Hitagi with handcuffs chained on a stack of desks...not implying anything, of course. Back to topic, I believe the first section should deal with Karen, correct, assuming if anything Hitagi was saying was foreshadowing something. In any event, Koyomi provides us once again how to properly handle one's lolita fetishes: a few stretches for preparation, continued with a swift dash from behind, followed by throw in the air with kisses in as many parts of her body as possible, particularly the face and chest.
