Yeah that's just the stupid English title but we're stuck with it.

So yeah, how many of you are looking forward to this anime? I know how half of anime fans worship it while half things it's overrated. I'm not a big fan of the first series myself, but I won't deny that it's a classic. Often I find myself comparing FMA to Love Hina and School Days, because all three have some unique vibe that makes them classics. Even if I don't really like them, I'm at least glad that I was exposed to them. Of course, I completely forgot FMA's plot, but I'll still excited about the next season. Here's a pseudo-trailer for FMA to remind you all of its...greatness.

huh i thought it was a different path in that they will be following the manga fully this time insted of only the first half and then going off into its own story like the original series did?


anyway i'll watch it for the sake of i watched the entire first series might as well watch this too.

Yeah, I thought this one was supposed to stick with the manga and that's why everyone was getting pumped about it.

Anyhoo, when I first heard BONES was doing it, it was automatically on my to watch list. I'm a little saddened with the change in a majority of the voice cast, mainly Toyoguchi Megumi being changed with Takamoto Megumi, but it won't bother me if the show is still fun to watch. I didn't really like the second half of the original.

I still have the first season on hold somewhere in the 30's. My ability to watch anime was pretty erratic a couple years back; there was a long period of time when I didn't watch anything and after it ended I didn't bother to pick the series up again. orz
Maybe this will motivate me to finish it. XD

Unnn FMA is one of these series that I find to be interesting but just not interesting enought to drive me to watch it all the way when it's too big (watched only some episodes from the first anime and read some of the first episodes). So the fact that there will be a new season that I can follow by watching only one episode a week will be good. I will surely follow it.

the original series as far as i know started off following the manga and then like half way through they changed everything and went off in their own directiong, what i've read and been told is that this new series will 100% follow the manga so it will be different.

This topic will used for the discussion of anything FMA related, though it's most basic fuction will be to discuss the remake, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

In this world, there exists people with special abilities to manipulate objects and transform one object into another. These people are known as alchemists. This process does come with a cost though, the basic law of alchemy states that to gain something you have to sacrifice something of the same value.

The main character is the famous alchemist Edward Elric - also known as the Fullmetal Alchemist - who almost lost his little brother, Alphonse, in an accident. Edward managed to contain his brother's soul in a large suit of armor. While he did manage to save his brother's life, he had to pay a great price himself.

To get back what they've lost, the brothers embark on a journey to find the Philosophers Stone that is said to amplify the powers of an alchemist enormously.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is a re-telling of the story from the manga point of view.

Well, there doesn't seem to be a topic for this yet, so I decided to make one.

FMA was the first completed anime I watched that I knew was an anime. So it was the first anime (not including movies) that I completed. It was one of my long-term obsessions and I had watched it so many times that I got sick of it. It was also my first fangirlism.

Anyways, I just watched the second episode of the remake. Now I want to rewatch the original. Is anyone watching this at the moment?

I'm watching it too. I learned about FMA during my transition from watching on the national TV to using the internet to watch anime. At that time for me to watch an anime with many episodes it would have to be outstanding. FMA was almost there but not enought. I'm eager to watch it this time though. Now let me go watch EP 2.

I recently saw the original FMA (like 4+ months ago) but I'm also following this newest season. I like this series.

I liked the first series, so I'll watch this one for sure. Plus it's supposed to be more close to the manga storyline (first series followed a totally original direction starting of the middle, very different from the manga).

From the first episode it seems fairly good, the only thing I don't really appreciate is the changes in the cast. Roy Mustang had a better voice in the first version.

Yep but all seems more rushed. Like the episode with the fake priest... I think it took 2-3 episodes in the first series, where it only takes one here. Not a bad thing imho, we'll get new things faster this way.
