Yeah the VN has way more details but I think they doing a good job with it. I'm only a bit dissapointed with Beato's voice. She sounded more childish to me when I played the novel.

The DVD release will presumably be uncensored.
I recall something similar being done for the first season of Higurashi (Black shadows obscuring wounds that were removed for the DVD release).

Ep 9 is another time I'm happy they censored, some things are just to gory for me. Anyway great episode! Like Fate said got really intense and exciting at near the end.

...I reallllly hope the ending to Umineko will live up to all the hype I've seen around the series, because episode 11 was just plain ridiculous.

It was a quite rushed EP, unfortunately. And it's not like were seeing the end soon, this season should go up to the end of the VN EP4, and there should be 3 or 4 more VN's EP's after that.

Basically 15 episodes until the end of the fourth game. Then a year or two until the second season that covers the second group of games (not quite answer arcs, but different).
