Umineko no Naku Koro ni

Synopsis
Umineko no Naku Koro ni takes place in 1986 during the time frame of October the 4th and the 5th on a secluded island named Rokkenjima (六軒島). The head of the wealthy Ushiromiya family, Kinzō Ushiromiya, who lives on and owns Rokkenjima, is near death, and eleven of his family members arrive on the island to discuss how Kinzō's assets will be divided once he is dead. Also on the island are five of Kinzō's servants, and his personal physician. After the eleven family members arrive, a typhoon traps them on the island and shortly after people start to get mysteriously murdered. (Source: Baka-Tsuki)

Oh hey there.

Nothing really happened that I didn't already expect. I liked some of the voices; Rosa (Ami Koshimizu) and Maria (Yui Horie) in particular impressed me, especially with their scene near the end.

Of course, I will continue to watch faithfully and hope I can get over whatever is bothering me about the character designs,

Too many damn names to remember. Maria, Battler, and Jessica were the ones i remembered =/.
Maria's voice is somewhat irritating to me, but I'll get over it proly. *slap

Expecting someone to die by the next episode :<

And the butterflies remind me of Yuyuko.

Just do what I do. Carry around a gallon of gasoline and a box of matches (or a lighter). When Maria goes "~Uu," just pour on the gasoline and light 'er up. You'll hear a bit more "~Uu," but That "inconvenience" will terminate shortly. :onion38:

Yay, Umineko thread.

I'm a player of the VN, and I enjoyed the first episode. Maria's uu was annoying as it was in the game, lol. Rosa pwned her. <_<

The OP was great too, I can't wait until the single comes out. The ED was a bit odd, but maybe it'll grow on me.

...Poor Natsuhi, though. ;__;

Naw. Best character probably hasn't even been show to us yet. We haven't even heard this "Witch Beatrice" that Maria saw.

Though Shannon will be cute too. I'm waiting for someone else.

Looks like I'm the only masochist around here to enjoy hearing Maria's "Uu~"s.

So. First episode was okay in setting up an interesting stage, though any anime that can follow a storyline can do that. I stopped trying to remember names after the 5th billion one and since one of the novel's fame is for its rich characters, hopefully the anime will spend more time later to develop each of them thoroughly.

I'll have to concur with most of the others regarding the "uuu"s. Definitely not cute like an "auu" or "nipaa". Other than that, I enjoyed the first episode. I particularly liked the music. The intro the ED gave me Utena flashbacks.

The "uu" is suppose to be annoying...at least for now. Got to want that beating. Later maybe it will be cuter. Or she'll be really creepy...either way works.

Not as cute as Hocchan's "auu auu" or "uguu~", and no where near as cute as "Nipaa~" or "mii".

I am liking the ED for some reason. I don't know exactly why, maybe because it's a weird style rock.

Needs to hear Beato go ARA ARA and UFUFU (but Eva does this in the VN =/)

Started VN. Playing both the eng and jap at the same time to level up skills. Will play up to where the anime end each week for awesome

Higurashi was creepy. Umineko has a heavy atmosphere. There's a huge difference between the two.

I like the opening.
I don't like the ending.

I didn't like how DEEN made Maria look like a madman.
Because that didn't make me feel scared at all.

lol yeah, it sometimes does feel totally out of place (especially when no one seems to notice it

Im now at the beach where they are picknicking, the VN sure has a lot more background info than the anime, though it is understandable since if they would have included all of it as well you could probably easily make a 52 episode anime.

But the VN is fun :]
