Albeit overly specialized, this innate knowledge of the route is currently Shinji's biggest advantage over Takumi, who can only (barely) try to keep up.

But despite being on the verge of winning (and crushing Project D's conquest in the process), Shinji inexplicably gives up the lead to Takumi.
