I am in full support of Aquamarine for Aquamarine. (:
..I accidentally got spoiled last year, but it's no big deal to me. I'm sure when I get to that point in the series (I'm at ep2 of Origination ATM), knowing what happens won't decrease my enjoyment at all. :D Well, maybe a little bit, but it won't stop me from loving it.

Akari vs Hina is painful, and I actually do like Hina more than Akari, but if Akari is still in the running for the necklace by that point, I'll still vote for her.

Luckily I know most of the characters in this tournament, this time around (last year was kinda pathetic). I'll try to finish at least F/SN and Bamboo Blade by the time the main tournament starts.

It might work if most people (in AnimeSuki) is against Touhou, but remember that you're at a more general community and what you hint at might piss off many people, and one of them will voice their opinions back.
I don't think "most" people at AS were against it. I felt like there was as much support for it as not. And wouldn't this place here be considered the more specialized community? The ISML thread at AS is just a single catch-all in the General Anime forum.

You know what I mean by general. We have more people of varying interests so if you say something extreme more likely or not one side will be pissed.

No. If you win a necklace it is very likely that you will make it, but it is not a guarantee. Setsuna from last year is a good example of this, she won the Topaz necklace, and then did horribly throughout the rest of the year (Amusingly enough, I think that she's the most moe of the girls who won a necklace in 2008, but that's just my preference :P )

Correct.

Furthermore, the new tiebreak system will make determining the winner of the necklace in a fairer way compared to last year. Also, the new scheduling schema allows for a more balanced period schedules per character compared to last year.

I'm looking forward to Aquamarine for Aquamarine, but I can't convince myself to expect much.
Akari might not have that super popularity to make it to the top, even you say Korea hold most voters.

But this campaign might make her record in Aquamarine period quite well (Hope so).

"Aquamarine for Aquamarine" depends greatly on who she is facing and, because of the new tiebreakers, who others are facing.

Akari still has several "unknown" opponents in the fourth and fifth tier. She could face Alice, she could face Taiga, she could face Reimu, or any of the other nominations contestants. She could face the full fury of Mei "Onii-chan" Sunohora for all we know.

well she's already slated to face Hinagiku so there's not much to expect, really. the chief rallying point for Aquamarine for Aquamarine is that it would be really appropriate if it [ever] happened.

Note that she could lose to Hinagiku and still take the necklace if everyone else also loses a match. The likelihood of that happening is rather slim, but it almost happened a few times last year.

I'm all for Aquamarine for Aquamarine, except I'm already planning to vote for Sakura (u_u) over Akari.
Anyway, Hanyuu is against Shana for her first match.. what a great way to start the season. :sad:
