I don't think ToC should be counted as the characters may only appear at the end of the year and even then its not guaranteed

I agree with not counting ToC, due to the champion may not appear in a match again for a very long time.

There's a good chance that both finalists qualify for next year's Best Girl Contest (starting in July). However, since I think ToC should be seen as an "extra" or rather an exhibition tournament, I agree with Desufire and Tsumikitty this time.

I agree that TOC should be treated as an exhibition match.

I just realized this, but if Chitanda Eru is not going to appear in ISML again (except when she is fighting for the Top 3/4 spot at TOC), when is the next likely time we are going to see her?

Chitanda Eru will likely participate in Best Girl Contest next year (about July, in 2015 she survived till 5th round).

The general problem for the Unofficial World Saimoe Championship is the exclusion of previous champions from main tournament matches. Also, (of the existing UWSC brands) only ISML and Best Girl Contest allow characters without any new material to participate.
In the worst case a Stella character without any new material, who had already won Best Girl Contest, wins the Heavenly Tiara as UWS champion. This could be the end of UWSC.

Good news: Chitanda Eru entered the main tournament of Best Girl Contest (seed 9 of 512). Her first opponent is Takao (match is still running for 16 hours). Bracket of Chitanda Eru's group A.

That's good news. That means there is a possibility for a potential change of hands that would hopefully cross back other to other main tournaments for us to keep watch on. I'll make sure to look at her bracket as often as I can.

July 4 BGC Quarterfinals:

Senjougahara Hitagi 5337 - 5281 Chitanda Eru

It seems as though curiosity ultimately defeated Eru here. Congratulations to Senjougahara Hitagi for becoming the new UWSC. Let's see if she can handle the electricity of Misaka Mikoto.

In terms of UWSC we should hope that Misaka Mikoto doesn't win Best Girl Contest.
She is excluded from ISML Regular Season, she is excluded from Animefans Saimoe Tournament (which seems to be dead), and if she wins Best Girl Contest, she will be excluded from future editions of this tournament. Great Awwnime Bracket would be the last hope, otherwise Misaka Mikoto would become the eternal UWSC.

Indeed. In the event that Mikoto does defeat Hitagi, our only hope would be that either Tadokoro Megumi or Holo can defeat her, as both would have some form of continuing participation in other tournaments.

Eternal? Nothing is eternal in this whole universe, let alone Misaka Mikoto. Anyway, she hasn't defeated Megumi yet. We'll see what's gonna happen.
