Under the Traditional method, Shana would've finished 8th. Yuki would have been runner-up. In the Hybrid, she would've finished 5th. The standings would have been Hinagiku, Kuroneko, Haruhi, Hitagi, then Shana.
I think this is meant to be 4th, as Kuroneko had already won Sapphire.
She wouldn't have won Sapphire under the Hybrid model; Azunyan would have.

I would've been happy if Kotomi-chan had won diamond 2008 instead of Haruhi and Hina instead of Shana for Emerald 2010.

Remember the traditional method that was used up to 2010 only?
It was Shana who won 3 necklaces and almost got the Ruby that year. If she hasn't had those number of necklaces, she wouldn't have those ANTIVOTERS (sorry for the word) , and may have proceeded to get the tiara.
To think she has won 3 necklace, that makes her better for Mio and Mikoto that time.
Same here for Kanade. If it had gone through traditional, Kanade would also have antivoters and would have less percentage of getting a perfect score. This can also decrease her chance of getting the tiara.

It is favorable for Kanade. :D
Anyway, who would want a year with two winners only?:D

That would be a lot of necklaces for Kanade. I'm glad it's not the 2008 rules anymore.

lolwut... Kanade wins twelve straight necklaces under the 2008 rules?
However, even if the 2008 rules were still used, I don't think Kanade would manage to get to twelve before someone stopped her streak; I doubt many people will be amused by the time she got to three or four straight.

I doubt she would have had the perfect year she did last year if that had happened. Too many reasons to anti-vote her.

The 'hybrid' system is simply the 2009-2010 system (highest SDO in the period) with the 2011 rule change of 'nobody wins more than one necklace in a season' in place.

If the 2011 Aquamarine necklace match used this year's way of necklace score (SDO/3 + match percantage) calculation then the result would be:

Misaka Mikoto 78/3+19.59=45.49
Tachibana Kanade 60/3+24.45=44.45
Akiyama Mio 63/3+15.61=36.61
Shana 63/3+13.46=34.36
Nagato Yuki 63/3+12.25=33.25
Eucliwood Hellscythe 66/3+10.72=32.72
Nakamura Yuri 66/3+3.93=25.93

Misaka Mikoto would still beat Kanade and get the necklace. But if last year's points was calculated in this year's way when loser would get partial points instead of nothing, then the result would be:

Misaka Mikoto 95.061/3+19.49=51.277
Tachibana Kanade 80.574/3+24.45=51.308
Akiyama Mio 79.711/3+15.61=42.180
Shana 84.865/3+13.46=41.748
Nagato Yuki 83.084/3+12.25=39.945
Eucliwood Hellscythe 81.306/3+10.72=37.822
Nakamura Yuri 81.306/3+3.93=31.032

Then Tachibana Kanade would have beat the problem of SDO and get the necklace instead of Mikoto getting it, and the trend of Aquamarine necklace winner wouldn't have existed. But then if last year's points was calculated in this year's way then Mio, Eucliwood and Yuri wouldn't be in the necklace match because of their lower points, Mio would be placed 8th with her 18.958, Eucliwood at 10th with 18.623 and Yuri at 11th 18.367. The three would have been replaced by Azusa (5th), Ruri (6th) and Hinagiku (7th), if that was the case then the match percantage earned by the rest of the 4 would be different as well.

If 2011 used its original necklace score calculation and 2012's points calculation, then the result of Aquamarine necklace match would be:

Misaka Mikoto 19.59% x 95.061=18.622
Tachibana Kanade 24.45% x 80.574=19.700
Akiyama Mio 15.61% x 79.711=12.443
Shana 13.46% x 84.865=11.423
Nagato Yuki 12.25% x 83.084=10.178
Eucliwood Hellscythe 10.72% x 81.306=8.716
Nakamura Yuri 3.93% x 81.306=3.195

Tenshi would get the Aquamarine necklace, but the same problem of three contestants been different would exist again. But it showed that even if Tenshi outblowed her opponents harder than Mikoto and left her with lower SDO she could beat Mikoto in the necklace match.

Yeah, not sure which one is better, it seems that this year's necklace score calculation gives SDO less power but not sure if that is good or bad.

I like method we have now, SDO is a way better method for necklace, and necklace battle is also fun to watch.
