That is true, JCS attempt to grasp of one of the KEY states could be giving them a boost, along with Sakurasou which is pretty strong lately. Their world is most likely cultural.

However, Angel Beats may not really be so close with KyoAni, even though they're still pretty tall, because of the growing influence of the Order of the Lotus. Especially with AIC, which is becoming a core empire of HanaKana. (Haganai, Oreimo) and AIC building up with another possible show for next year with Kotoura-san. (Tamako for next year sounds like a nice mercantile world)

Recently, I just counted up the characters and shows for Phase 3. This isnt final and will see then this phase finishes.
Image
so far, JCS surpassed KyoAni for the number of shows, but still havent surpassed the amount of characters. But luckly, JCS grew faster in terms of characters, causing them to be quite a sprawling empire.

AIC and Shaft are becoming quite a rivalry in their level. But we'll more later on. I know there are other studios to color in like Xebec and A-1 pictures but I havent got to them yet.

Give a list of two faction first. Maybe someone can complete the whole.

Order of the Lotus:
Kanade is holding the seat of Center Nova. This results in faster recruiting.
List of membersShow
Advanced members:
Kanade Tachibana "Live angel in the world of death"
Charlotte Dunois "Infinite Stratos - Old type"
Ruri Gokou "Black cat and sisters"
Mato Kuroi "Lone gunner"
Nadeko Sengoku "Snake off the focus"
ImageImageImageImageImage
New recruitments:
Mikan Yuuki "Housemaker"
Kobato Hasegawa "Vampire in training"
Karuta Roromiya "Skeleton"
ImageImageImage
Other minor members: These have appeared in the inner war of a different world.
Tomoka Minato
Mayuri Shiina
Chiaki Kurihara
Kuro Matsumi <- This unit is found most damaged
Mayu Morita
Shiori Shiomiya
Future members: Only a few are confirmed by the time the war starts.
Kuzuha Doumoto
Yuri Mariya
Ichiko Sakura
Akane Tsunemori
Kougyoku Ren
Maria Akizuki
Yuriko Mifune
Kagami Yagami
Kugimiya Knights:
With many great losses in recent wars, they only have a few members still active. It's worse that they don't have much reinforcements, and even worse that the four knights are weakened a lot.
List of membersShow
Remaining Knights:
Taiga Aisaka "Knight of tiger"
Louise de la Valliere "Knight of void"
Shana "Knight of flame"

I've made a quick write about AIC's history
[FACTION] Aperture Interstellar Conglomerate

AIC, the religious and industrial empire that sprawled for eons. A large and not-so-new empire compiled of seven subdivisions. Their strong industry and size were great but recently joined the Fourth Moé War because of the movement of KanaHana. A union of worlds included Ordet, 8-bit, PA WORKs, a world from the Shaft empire, and two worlds from AIC banded together to form a secret organization called The Order of the Lotus. This made them a great alliance and the third superpower of that time. They fought hard in the Fourth War. However, the alliance took damage from JCS' victory.

In the fifth war, AIC's Andromeda Interstellar Combat Defense Forces were going quite strong until Kanade became hired from the KyoAni empire and winning the Tiara. This is not known whether it benefited the KyoAni Empire or the secret Order. During that, AIC continued to have influence a few AIC worlds being a great force. (Oreimo and Haganai) The Order, in the other hand, became the largest interstellar organizations ever in history, making AIC now its base empire. Their influence continue to expand to Manglobe and Shaft, causing a possible positive relations to each other.

Hmmm. No single grouping larger than four this time around.

Most of the new shows I don't have enough information on charcter (or the show) at this time to project a faction or nation within an existing faction. I might be able to come up with something though.

The benefit (and possible curse) of having five years to go with so far is that there are several defined factions and nations to work with, thus it is only a matter of filling in the blanks for the newbies in the existing factions for the most part. Save that sometimes something completely new shows up. Or nations switch factions.

While Bakemonogatari has many characters in Regular Season so far they are all doing very badly. It's rather painful to watch all of them losing in one day. SAO is not meeting their strength in Prelim. FSN is depleting faster than expected. So many character has fallen from their past popularity.

On the seiyuu side Kayano Ai is really gaining strength. In Nova she already has 3 character, although this is far off from how many Hanazawa had last year it's still a pretty good number. Next year Fuyuumi Ai might also join the war.

Will the line up for the Sixth Great Moe war be created anytime soon. If there is a need for help in terms of naming the characters and/or specific anime realms in general, I am free to help.

Sorry, I never got around to making up a list for this year's War. Just didn't have enough information to make new factions and the like. I might retroactively make one up, but it may be time for someone else to carry on the story telling aspect of ISML. Or come up with a way to use the graphs and charts to tell a story to keep people interested. There is a Civilizations model in the works I see, and there have been talks of a Three Kingdoms era version of the story rather than a Space Opera.

I liked the space opera as I tend towards science fiction, but also because that's how the charts started to take shape back in 2008.

I think as long as you're willing to write and post about it, go for it. (Kind of like how some of you are doing visual-novel-like stuff in the Games Forum.)

My recommendation is to read the previous storylines from 2009 and onward -- to get a feel for the style and tone.

And then, basically, you just wait for each day's result -- and spin a story out of it. Ithekro created factions, and their wins/losses in ISML would correspond to the tug-of-war he'd portray in the space opera for control of the galaxy.

I need help!
Ore No Imouto Season 1 was animated by AIC (Sora no Otoshimono, Boku wa Tomodachi, Seitokai Ichizon, Date a Live)
Ore No Imouto Season 2 was animated by A1 Pictures (SAO, Vividred, Shin Sekai Yori, Anohana, Working)

Should I do a transfer of alliances? What do you think is the best option for the future of Space Opera?

I think the style of Oreimo 2 is close to AIC more than A-1 Pictures.

As far as I am concerned, usually when a series is taken up by a new studio, their studio representation also changes. So, technically, Hinagiku's representation should have been manglobe. Fate/stay night switched from Studio Deen to ufotable, but so far, that's the only evidence of a switch I can recall. Ore no Imouto should be under A1 pictures on that note, but its up for the artist to decide who goes where (melange and ithekro).

@ithekro: Primary Institution of the Galactic is a play on Production I.G.'s abbreviation. However, I thought it was one of the early production institutions to be represented, but I was apparently wrong.
First Aegis is a play on A1 for A1 Pictures. My original idea was First Defense, but that did not sound right given the context of the group. So, I decided to see if there were any mythological references into it, and Aegis fits.
