Giving his love for life, and died dreaming about her in the end. A real happy man, right? ~

Detective Conan/Cased Closed is pulling no punches trying to get a winner in this tournament. And both Mori and Ai end up in separate semifinal matches.

And whether or not it's tactical voting against Nao, despite losing four out of five Love Live reps in the same round, Nozomi managed to reach the semifinals and is trying to add to LL's win count. (Maki, Kotori and Eli winning separate tournaments already)

Trivia: intraseries finals

At the moment the final of Baidu Nova Moe 2015 is running and two characters from Detective Conan fight for the championship. It's not the first intraseries final in this tournament - in the 2014 edition two Love Live! characters faced each other. It's a good opportunity to look at same series finals in general.
Most tournaments experienced no or only one such final, while 4 same series finals took place in Yamibo Yuri Saimoe and 6 in Anime Saimoe Tournament.
At least 4 Puella Magi Madoka ☆ Magica finals occurred until now. Kaname Madoka appeared in 3 of these finals, 2 times Akemi Homura was her opponent - and she lost both matches (Yamibo Yuri Saimoe 2013, Baidu Anime Saimoe Tournament 2014).

Match list

Anime Saimoe Tournament 2004 (Ashita no Nadja): Nadja Applefield 154 < 230 Rosemary Applefield
Anime Saimoe Tournament 2008 (Lucky ☆ Star): Hiiragi Kagami 1037 > 976 Hiiragi Tsukasa
Anime Saimoe Tournament 2011 (Puella Magi Madoka ☆ Magica): Sakura Kyōko 435 < 512 Tomoe Mami
Anime Saimoe Tournament 2012 (Saki): Onjōji Toki 311 > 291 Matsumi Kuro
Anime Saimoe Tournament 2013 (Puella Magi Madoka ☆ Magica): Kaname Madoka 277 > 191 Miki Sayaka
Anime Saimoe Tournament 2014 (Saki): Haramura Nodoka 187 = 187 Miyanaga Saki

Baidu Anime Saimoe Tournament 2014 (Puella Magi Madoka ☆ Magica): Kaname Madoka 326 < 454 Akemi Homura

Baidu Harem Moe 2009 (Ichigo 100%): Tōjō Aya 940 > 823 Nishino Tsukasa (fun fact: Tōjō Aya won the eastern semifinal and Nishino Tsukasa won the western semifinal)

Baidu Nova Moe 2014 (Love Live!): Nishikino Maki 5585 > 4490 Minami Kotori

Bilibili Moe 2015 (Fate Series): Saber 87744 > 46223 Tōsaka Rin

Korean Super Best Moe 2008 (Rozen Maiden): Suiseiseki 3265 < 3296 Suigintō

loli battle 2008 (Cardcaptor Sakura): Daidōji Tomoyo 64 < 85 Kinomoto Sakura

Yamibo Yuri Saimoe 2007 (Mai Otome): Natsuki Kruger < Shizuru Viola
Yamibo Yuri Saimoe 2008 (ARIA): Alicia Florence 176 < 258 Akira E. Ferrari
Yamibo Yuri Saimoe 2010 (Strike Witches): Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen 249 > 218 Sanya V. Litvyak
Yamibo Yuri Saimoe 2013 (Puella Magi Madoka ☆ Magica): Kaname Madoka 110 < 327 Akemi Homura

This is remarkably interesting. I wonder to what sets the tournaments with no intraseries finals apart

Great Awwnime Bracket and Best Girl Contest are relatively new tournaments, so intraseries finals can still happen in the future. International Saimoe League had a larger and more diversified voter base than Anime Saimoe Tournament, where strong factions could dominate the tournament easier in the last four years with decreasing vote numbers. The random draw before each round in the Korean Best Moe Tournament could have prevented some intraseries finals (with the exception of the 2010 tournament the semifinalists represented four different series!). For Animefans Saimoe Tournament the the exclusion of past champions could have played a role.

For ISML, at least, I would think at least one of the factions would be series-based, but even if they get all/most of the girls in one series into regular season, they seem to all pick one girl and let the others go.
