I would say:
Not sure if it's worth translating ISML.
Btw i was wondering why is it voting and not participation, since participation has a wider meaning?
Otherwise it's pretty much up to your own taste, either way is correct.
Well cos idk should I even translate ISML or not. LOL
The reason why I go with voting is cos of KS sentence. His statement was " Thank you for VOTING in ISML" and not "Thank you for participating in ISML" so I just went with what was given.
Besides I won't use ありがとうございます only cos I think it warrants a formal tone hence I went with the formal way of thanking. In any case let him choose then but I'll make your sentence more formal by using ありがとうございました instead.
Were this a translation made on order I'd go for
Jiharo's phrasing of the thanks is the most standard and feels the most natural. (No difference in meaning either way, though.)
I agree with exec's idea of 参加/participation here. It makes me feel like I'm part of something bigger and fun. (The literal "voting" translation is also fine, of course.)
As for the name, 国際最萌トーナメント was the first official title translation we did, and it appeared in at least one past PV. It's a translator's rule of thumb to follow past translations as far as possible... but to be honest, we aren't bound by red tape or anything. While we are currently known under a large variety of different names in Japan, that old official one isn't particularly popular, losing out to the newer "league" variants.
Since it is difficult for people in Japan to remember us just by the ISML acronym, and it would be helpful to provide them with a single official translation (good for online tags and general recognition), I think it might be a good idea to translate that part and go with one of the currently popular variants like exec did.
So in the end I suggest this:
Up to your preference, of course.
By the way, the Polish version, if you need it:
Dziękujemy za Twój udział w ISML.
