Well, Mystia's Shrine of Cards would be a good place to start, where you can ask for a random non-mega card from each year from 2009-2015.

Then to get some other cards, you can:
1. Participate in fantasy and try to see if you can win any prizes, and you can definitely earn ICS (the trading currency for cards) along the way.
2. Post your votes in the voting threads (mainly opened by sirwence)
3. Participate in Hikachu's Day Care, where you put in some of your cards and get some extra in return
4. Trade with people
5. Go for some raffles when they are available through Hikachu's Raffle Royale or the Orphange.
6. Participate in other community activities such as Karaoke, etc.

The list above is non-exhaustive and you can find examples of the abovelisted items in this ISML card sub-forums. Feel free to ask any questions in this thread if you have any enquiries.

Hi buzz. In the shrine just ask: "Mystia-sama, i have no idea who you are, but could give me cards from 2009 to 2015 distributions?" and you should get your 7 initial cards. Then you can trade with people!
But the best way to get cards is to participate in events of the community to gain ICS (Ice Creams) that you can later exchange against moar cards. For example, you can participate in the Fantasy (guess the results of various ISML rounds), in the Karaoke (you get ice creams just for participation!), etc.
