probably, characters who received the same # of nominations. I think the purpose is to decide which characters goes to which ties.. lol anyways I can't wait.

That'd mean all those characters are qualified to the Prelims... I kind of like this idea ^^

He would get 110, and yes, that would have gotten him into prelims.

That's the number of nominations you actually got?
Maybe the count would actually be even higher, since the lack of eligibility may deter some voters.

I kinda wonder how many times they got nominations that simply read "Sonozaki - Higurashi" and how they get counted.

I don't think we've had that happen yet. There were some ambiguous nominations, such as Fujibayashi @ CLANNAD. There were also some who were really lazy or forgot to type out the full name (?) or something, weird things like "Kou Kirino." And of course, there are some Misaka Mikoto @ Shakugan no Shana etc...

~~Ikaros~~ & Nymph because one must not underestimate the lolicon horde in a moe contest
Kousaka Kirino & ~~Gokou Ruri~~ I'm more of a Kuroneko fan, but a tsundere imouto ? That gotta rack a lot of votes
~~Ayuzawa Misaki~~ & Kiriya Nozomi "nyaa!" And I'd be utterly disappointed the net thought otherwise, although Misaki is good competition and Maid-Sama is better advertised than Mayoi Neko Overrun =/
~~Lala Satalin Deviluke~~ & Kotegawa Yui I'd usually think that Lala is more likely to get nomination as a main char, but Yui did get some good screentime this year
Nino (Arakawa) & ~~Togame (Katanagatari)~~ but only because I think Arakawa is more popular than Katanagatari. Although it's highly susceptible to the population the voters are from
~~Tachibana Kanade~~ & Kinoshita Hideyoshi Hideyoshi, 'nough said, I won't accept otherwise =D
Kaname Madoka & ~~Akemi Homura~~ 'cause I don't feel enough moe-energy coming from the kind Homura-chan yet.

I don't really feel like I'm getting a highscore with that though ^^
