How many Preliminaries qualifiers do you know ?

There are so many characters you can vote for in the Preliminaries, so I wonder if all of them are well-known. I'd like to know how many of them do you know on the list of 144 Candidates that you can find here

Depending, it may be better for you to count the ones you DON'T know rather than the ones you do.

Plus, you could add who are the characters you don't know ; it'll be interesting to see if 2010-2011 are the ones not known, or if it's rather the older ones.

How do you define 'know'? Cause I have three different numbers now xD
- If I only count girls I saw in their respective animes, I have 101.
- I know the personality of 11 more girls, so I can also say I know 112 even if I haven't seen them playing on the screen.
- And finally I can also say that I know 137 girls because I can immediately recall their faces.

Well, actually it's more like 143,5/144. I did see Ai from Detective Conan, but only when watching Detective Conan episodes at random. I'm not following the series at all.
Even in the ranked non-qualified characters, I know them all but one (from Hidan no Aria, so I guess I'll have to wait for the spring seasons to begin before meeting that girl)

I don't know if I should be proud or ashamed of this =D

I have less notable numbers (which didn't leave me with an option at which I could choose), but I counted (by hand, didn't notice the checkboxes until I was part of the way through the list) by the second method you mentioned.
I haven't watched the anime Shana is from, but she's talked about enough that I have a fairly clear idea about her.

I'll do another count later, when I have more time, but right now I believe I recognise less than half of the girls, mainly because I've been too busy to start watching this season's anime.

Just redid the count by the check boxes, 65 total. That actually saddens me. Though some of the characters I might have checked if there were faces to connect. I operate by appearance, names don't often stick with me.
I usually recognize actors by the characters they play more than by hearing their names for instance.
