No cookies today because chaosprophet won't let me. Instead, we can all talk about Tachibana Kanade.

I get the feeling even with all the tough opponents in group 1, Kanade will win by alot. I'll pay more attention to the results of group 2.

I'd like to see an upset in group 1. And I wonder when did I become so antagonistic towards Tenshi, it feels like I hate her which is obviously not true.

:-/ Well...I can sort of expect a large win coming from Kanade's side...though I am hoping for an upset. Though I doubt it's coming...

It would be a waste if Tenshi was upset in a pointless match like this. Unless the scheduling scheme has changed significantly from last year, there's no real different between being a 1st seed, 2nd seed to even a 7th seed. I think it would be a lot more interesting to see how long Kanade can keep up a a long undefeated streak than see it just end here.
A miracle that you believe in when you know it won't happen......... is hope.

Well, when you put all the top players in one group side by side, Kanade seems to have the least interesting personality of the lot. While she has some overlapping similarities with Nagato, the humanoid interface at least has performed some "bogus magic" as Kyon would put it to capture the imagination of the viewers (and she looks out for Kyon in her own discreet way). And there's the Nagato Disappearance version that brought out some more human-like aspect to her character. Oh...not forgetting the Snowy Mountain incident in the Suzumiya Haruhi novels.

Rather than calling it hate, I'd say it's more of...frustration from having a hard time finding out why she's having that level of popularity when comparing what the other top-tiers have and she has not. But then, moe works in mysterious ways.

  • K-On!: Akiyama Mio ♦ Nakano Azusa ♦ Hirasawa Yui

  • Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?: Eucliwood Hellscythe
  • Haiyore! Nyaruko-san: Nyarlathotep

It's a lot harder figuring out why a violent, self-centered girl like Kirino is doing well, then it is to grasp Tenshi's popularity.

Tenshi comes from an arch type designed to have few haters. There are those that love her for playing the kuudere (or dandere, depending on how you decide to view her) role well, and others who are impartial to her as they can't really find any reason to dislike her. Yuki was really popular even before Disappearance, and as far as I'm concerned, Tenshi is a heck of a lot more personable than what Yuki was in the first two seasons. And then throw in the fact there is obviously some massive fanbase voting for AB characters considering even minor ones made it in this year. Being the most recent Key title in ISML is sure to be a good reason for that. Give Tenshi one more year without a new anime and she'll fall proportionally to the other top tier characters. Give Tenshi three more years and she'll struggle to make the top 16. It's called memory malfunction.

I won't mind if Kanade wins, but I at least want to see someone come relatively close (like within 900. Ok 500)

Unless girls like these are one of your top picks, it's natural to start hating someone who keeps on blowing her opponents out of the atmosphere every match. It used to happen with Shana, but nobody gives a damn anymore because it's scientifically proven that Shana never wins anything important.

Half a year of regular season blowouts do wonders to nurture anti-votes.

Antagonism towards Tenshi is rising...as far as i know. it would be interesting to see whether her current strength will hold off these negative views till the tiara battle

I am more interested in Group 2 than in Group 1, but that could probably be just me.

Well...mostly expected results. Still kind of wondering what made Azusa's popularity rise so much though =.= Also, looks like Clannad's popularity is pretty much dying. I mean...Tomoyo lost to Saber... ._.
