2012 Nomination plans

Finally decided to cast my vote as it's listed previously.
Not really hopeful for most of the single-series nominations other than Yuno and Chihaya, but I put them in the system anyways. I'm kinda wondering how Merry's going to do, her series didn't really finish strong, but she seems to be getting several votes.

Hope I don't regret submitting them now, but meh.

I have to spread evenly for both division... I'm pretty mad that I have to spend some of the slot for few characters that I hope can be qualify as auto-nomination. But, since I really like them, it can't be help....
I wonder why we can't have more slots since we have two division this year..

Interesting idea. However, you have to keep in mind that all nomination ballots are checked manually by the staff, so the number of slots must be kept reasonable to keep the workload down.

In addition, we want to make sure that people nominates characters they feel more passionate about compared to most other characters. More slots can actually reduce the fidelity of the nomination slots as excessive number of slots may let someone who is merely widely known without negative baggage to easily accumulate high number of nomination only to do very poorly when prelim starts. Check out previous nomination ranking and see how poorly some of the girls in top 10 nomination fared.

Anyway, nobody want to nominate Arcueid? I thought she might got some nomination considering Carnival Phantasm is still airing...

Speaking for just myself, there are several characters I really like and would heavily support if they got in, but some are from slightly older series (having aired between three to five years ago) and probably won't do well if they make it to the regular season. And some that have made it in the past have declined in strength from year to year. My nomination above includes Holo, for example, who took a huge drop this past year. I'm giving her one more chance to see how she does this year, but if she continues to do poorly, I'll be forced to give up on her just as I did with Kotomi and the Kanon girls and instead focus on newer characters I like that still have a good chance at making it. Call me a fair-weather fan if you will, but I don't think there's a good reason I should torture myself watching the characters I love do poorly against the newer "flavor of the month/season" characters...

In my case, I will still nominate them especially for Miyazaki Nodoka, Sawachika Eri and Fuyou Kaede, since I know they will never reach even to the preliminary round. I do not feel good not to nominate them at all. But, if the character does have the chance to reach preliminary or main round, yet I think they not strong enough to compete with the others, I won't nominate them. I already felt enough torture by looking at Amu performance in 2009...

I don't remember exactly who I nominated. One of them was Yuno Gasai, and I also nominated some girls from Kanon and Madoka Magica. I think I nominated one or two Haibane Renmei girls too. I didn't think much about whether my nominees would really have a chance or not.

We would be welcoming your submissions for prelim character avatars. You can start doing that right now. Even if the character you made the avatar for don't make it to prelim, there is a chance they might appear in the exhibition matches, so if you can make a good one, submit, and hope for the best.

Indeed. Kud only appeared in exhibition matches, and all non-anime girls like her (and Athena, Touhou character, Miku, et cetera) can only appear in exhibition and not the main event.

Oh, and I was pleased to see someone who know as much anime still finding some place among the 12 nominated names to nominate Kou Shuurei, Maglor. Saiunkoku Monogatari is awesome, and so is its main character, alright.
