10ZHAbin wrote:Chitanda Eru was originally sorted into Group 5, where she lost her first place to Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko and came second. According to the natural flow of the match, she should have been into Group 6 facing Nibutani Shinku for Round 2. However, in the same round, Tobiichi Origami in Group 10 came second while Itsuka Kotori from Group 11 came first. Following the natural flow, Tobiichi would have met Itsuka, which would result in a inter-series match. Since 2013, inter-series within Prelim have been avoided. As such, Tobiichi swapped with Chitanda, where Chitanda faced off Itsuka instead while Tobiichi faced off Nibutani. Had Chitanda wasn't chosen to be swapped, she would have met Nibutani (R2), Yoshino (R3) and Yaya (R4).
You are absolutely correct.

Is it too late to trade Meiko, Yami, Sora, Last Order, and Iwasawa for Holo, Ruiko, Numph, Haruna, and Tomoyo? -_-

For Stella, it's the end for those who missed out. Clannad and Lucky Start officially out, C.C., Kyō, Nagisa, Holo, Konata, Louise, Tomoyo and Rin missed their 1st RS in seven years, and I don't think they will get into RS anymore. Grats to Hinagiku, Yuki, Saber, Shana and Haruhi as they are the only five left that haven't missed a single year. Grats to all girls from Nova last year like Mashiro, Sena, Erio and the others who make it into Stella Division's RS.
For Nova, grats Rikka, KYH, Asuna, Nanami, Tsukiko, Shinka, Yoshino, Yaya, Azusa, Mirai, Kotori and Kurumi get themselves a ticket to Nova Division's RS. For those like Eru, Yui and Kurousagi who put up some good fight during Phase I, all the best for your Phase II and hope to see you in the RS.

Talk about coming out of nowhere. Kirishima Shōko, who was not on my radar, manages to get in at the cost of Mato. And Lucky Star officially dies. With Konata tied for last place, I knew it was not meant to be. A shame too. In hindsight, it was not like a sudden revelation of all the 2008 girls dropping like flies last time. There were quite a few to care about, so there was that. A miscalculation from Homura's part last match cost her greatly, so it was not surprising that she would lose under those circumstances. And it may be that we're not going to see any PMMM girls at all as well for that matter. The second place victory from Erio was beneficial for her, but her match still was pretty close. In the end, Aria did not have what it takes to take Erio down.

So. how many 2008 girls are left? Saber, Shana, Haruhi, Hinagiku, Yuki? There are only five of them left. And, who knows? Next year, we may have none at all. Haruhi, Hinagiku, and Yuki are in danger of not being here next year. Saber and Shana may have one more year left in them, and then what? By 2016, even those two will be forgotten as well, if they already did not disappear by 2015...

Though I joined in 2013, picking up Space Opera has really given me a feel of just how old ISML is, and what a radical change happened between the years 2011-2013. It was literally like a 1st generation and a 2nd generation. I was amazed, didn't think a tournament could have such a clear and obvious deprecation trend.

I bid farewell to my Lucky Star girls. I really wanted Kagami to get over 200 wins. Tis a shame.

Who knows what tomorrow or next year has in store for ISML! Although bittersweet, I feel something like this is exciting. You can almost feel the future in the winds of change.

C.C., Holo, Nymph, Tohsaka, Saten... Lucky Star and Clannad too. Far too many great, classic, girls missing out. Reminds me why I lose interest every year in the first place.

RIP CC, Holo. You will be missed.

The only hope I have for Hina-tan making it next year is for HnG to have another half-decent season in the next year (not likely considering what the anime's done to the story)
Saber might have gotten some boost from Illya's anime, she did have several episodes in there. Don't think it'll be the same for the next season. I don't remember her even appearing there.

With the ufotable F/SN remake this year, she'll have a better boost without the need to rely on Ilya's anime. Also hoping the remake will be Rin's ticket back to regular season next year.

On another note, it seems like Saber will have to remain as my Stella favorite this year after all. Homura indeed drew a tough group but I knew this could happen when she placed below Erio... I still has hope due to her previous match with Nadeko but she was way below what I thought she could do in this match. As a fan of both PMMM and Monogatari, to have my favorite character of the former drop out in favour of my least favorite character of the latter leaves kind of a bitter taste in my mouth.

Shouko being in is great despite the fact she'll have a tough time in there. Nagato looks really weak this year but I'm also quite happy she made it in. On the Nova division, Haqua performing consistently is great and it looks like she'll be making her way back in this year. Shokuhou's performance was better than expected and I hope she can keep it up. I really want to see her in regular season. Origami keeps being the weakest DAL as expected (though quite unfortunately), but that's strong enough not to raise worries. I've basically lost faith in Kirigiri and Mitsuki but let's see if they'll pull off something in Phase III or so. (At least they're better than poor Sayaka, who's my second favorite PMMM character and gets no love at all compared to all the others.) Will be supporting all megucas, though, of course, despite realizing there were Homura anti-votes from fans of other characters due to Rebellion. Oh well... I like the characters and am a peaceful person so I'll find some other way to quell my thirst for revenge. Like endlessly debating about the movie somewhere on the internet or something.

I hope Sora could be awarded level 6 or 7 so that she can fight for a second ornament. I don't want to see her over-leveled again and again in Regular Season.

my comment on phase 2Show
Group 1: Eru advance without a fail, she was unlukcy in phase 1, Mikan second, chocolat third. Noire should be able to upset Kyouko now that there is only 3 characters left in each match.
Group 2: Yatogami Touka advance, Karuta may upset Charlotte Belew for a better match up in Phase 3.
Group 3: I want to say Kurousagi, but then I remember how Misaki Mei upsetted Karen last year and that strange result this year where she pushed down Azuki Azusa and almost knocked out Yaya. She can be anywhere between advancing in Phase 2 and eliminated in Phase 3.
Group 4: Yukino had been a safe 2nd seed throughout entire Phase 1, so she looks pretty safe here. Last year, Dekomori Sanae had shown herself to be weakened as preliminary advances its way. There is Ririchiyo and Noumi, so her first match against Noumi and Kujou Karen can be critical to her here. Karen should upset Sayaka at the last round.
Group 5: Takanashi Touka advance, I'm not sure about Momo here, she went from 1st seed to 5th seed to 4th seed and jump to 2nd seed. If she was pitted against characters like Karuta and Mikasa then she probably needed to worry about losing her advantage in seeding. But since this is Madoka and Akatsuki at 3rd and 4th seed for this group, she should be fine. Akatsuki may upset Madoka.
Group 6: Some fight here for the 1st place. Asuna is in and so is Mikoto, Suguha and Misaki have no more major help from their series leaders. Misaki hadn't been doing so well in Phase 1 until Mikoto got put into some tough seeding groups that attracted a good number of Railgun fans. Most likely, how SAO and Kaminomi play out in Nova 6 and 8 will decided which series will advance.
Group 7: Date A Live 5th character coming in.
Group 8: I think Mikasa might upset Natsume Rin, she's being a 3rd seed all the way through until the last round where she met Misaki Mei who seemed to be flying anywhere and just happen to be flying above her at that certain point.

Kind of early on the Phase II prelims but.....
Phase II PredictionsShow
(1) Eru will win the group but there could be a battle for 2nd between Mikan, Chocolat and Sakura Kyoko as far as a better Phase III grouping. (But did Noire have to be in the group as well?) >_<
(2) Yatogami Tohka to win, then Charlotte Belew and Karuta
(3) KuroUsagi > Renge? > Misaki Mei (Too bad (Raven) Natsume, Neptune and Ai Fuyuumi are also in the group)
(4) Yukinoshita > Dekomori> Ririchiyo (supporting Nepgear and Kudo Asuka in this group)
(5) Takanashi Toka to win, I think Momo B. Deviluke will be second..... with 3-way matches now, Madoka getting 3rd is not set in stone. Akatsuki may try and take advantage.
(6) Suguha to win, Misaki should get second even if there's no railgun boost, Shiori 3rd (Unless Leticia or Laura try to play the role of spoiler)
(7) Origami > Nyaruko..... seeing how Naze has been having trouble with Phase I, maybe her luck will be better in Phase II. Then again, Strike the Blood is current and Yukina may try to take 3rd.
(8) As long as Yui didn't face Eru or Tohka, she would win the group and advance..... until I noticed Haqua was in the group as well. Easily the closest battle for 1st place.
Yui > Haqua is my prediction (but I want Haqua to win). 3rd may be close as well. Rin Natsume 3rd > Mikasa 4th
