Fak, that was a close call for Fate.
Wth, Taiga?
Didn't take long for me to go the anti-tsundere route, but it has to be done.

Re: RESULTS - Seeding 2
WOW I see some unexpected results here but I like how this doesn't show exact strength, although Kyou beat Mafuyu (very close) a lot of the votes had them both on so if people had to choose one things might be different

I'm glad that Fate won, even if it was super close. Seitokai sure is popular.

Looks like the only unexpected result came from the first group. I'm not surprised that Mio or Mikoto beat Tomoyo. What surprised me was they both had more votes than Tomoyo. Mostly everyone else expected to win won their group.

Drats...and I initially put Mikoto as winner for group 1. Should have resisted urge to do sudden changes.
And yay to Fate. A real hard fought battle.

Taiga's huge victory has left me in despair, I wasn't happy about Saber beating Kagami either but at least that was close >_>

Re: RESULTS - Seeding 2
Didn't expect Mio to actually get owned by Mikoto but ha. Poor Tomoyo though. Looks like Fate was luckier... nice 4-vote difference.
Yui, got raped by Taiga, etc.
So overall none of the newbies (non-ISML09 contestant, in any case) from the prelims won in any match. The roads still tough.

GO RAILGUN!!!
I'm still surprised at how Mikoto's taken off this year. If this momentum continues, I bet she can make the elimination tournament this year!

Re: RESULTS - Seeding 2
One reason I believe is due to some these older series' having gained quite a substantial amount of fan loyalty over the years. Suzumiya entranced everyone with its unorthodox characters, Nanoha (the series) was a slightly different take on the magical girl genre while Clannad's fanbase was most likely an accumulation from Kyo-ani's previous Key works, Kanon and Air. They are neither too old nor new, so I'd say their fanbase are at their peak right now. Newer series are currently playing fanbase catch-up as we can see from the preliminaries and seeding matches. If older series' were limited to let's say two ISML outings, then we'd see shifting vote preferences each year. Who knows, maybe K-On! and Bakemonogatari might then be the giants of the season.Eater-of-All wrote:Didn't expect Mio to actually get owned by Mikoto but ha. Poor Tomoyo though. Railgun would be the only exception (but then, it's an Index spin-off) since Mikoto benefited from having more screentime and being able to show what she's capable of, which did not disappoint.
But anyway, it's the Regular Season where the series' fanbase will be put to the test.

I guess Mikoto playing "Real Force" in the latest Railgun episode on her violin helped.

Rika's gotten a bit weaker though...
That is such a cool image! Thanks for sharing!CrimsonFallingStar wrote:Here's to a one-two finish for my favourite anime girls!Show

Ugh... what the staff has done to Ushio-chan... you guys really want to make that poor girl suffer don't you? You raped her with this seeding placement.
Yuki won her bracket. I'll take solace in that.

Re: RESULTS - Seeding 2
Think of it this way. Ushio will have a low seed placement, thus she is in a good place to cause upsets early on if she manages to get some great support material. The trouble she will have is two-fold. One: She's going up against some of the best there is. Two: All of her animated material is from the end of Clannad After Story...those that dropped Clannad for whatever reason before After Story Episode 17 would never have seen her.
(Third: She's by far the youngest character in this contest (by appearance). She is (hopefully) below the lolicon voting block demographic since she's four to five years old.)

Re: RESULTS - Seeding 2
Wow... I'm going to say what everyone knows, but I didn't expect Mikoto to be first... I would have thought she'd be third.
And yeah, Kurimu is very impressive. She's still far from Mafuyu's level.
With those results, we have 4 rookies in the top 16, who would advance to postseason. I think it'll be ok for Mio and Mafuyu, but I woner about the others... And of course, we need 20 other contestants and some of them could have enough power to make it in the top 16 (I see at least 2 or 3 possibilities.)
