I'm going to make a guess based on the HnG poll that Maria will probably not be showing up next year, or at least not doing very well. Isumi was and is probably powered by moe, a factor that Maria probably doesn't have much of.

After 11 episodes of oreimo and reading many comments, now I believe Kuroneko will get a higher ranking than Kirino...

Kirino is still considered the Title Heroine, while Kuroneko is the supporting character. Never underestimate the fixation many East Asians have on main heroines.

The Bottom Eight (not in order): Musume Ika, Kousaka Kirino, Hirasawa Yui, Suzumiya Haruhi, Sakagami Tomoyo, Nakagawa Kanon, Yui , & Gokō Ruri

I'm going to guess that Mio will be able to get to the 16, but we'll have a new winner next year again.
