Eater-of-All wrote:We would be pretty awesome indeed if we can feel no animosity towards whatever caused our favorite to lose. If it makes you feel better though, I personally don't hate China or the people themselves (I'm Chinese for hell's sake). I just hate the fact that China single-handedly overturned the results.
It's not that it isn't a drag when your character loses, but for so many people to say that they HATE an entire group of people because they think a different character is cute is just a little upsetting to me. I understand the "game" behind it, and to put yourself into the game makes the competition more exhilarating - I like to do it too. I like to personify the characters as actually fighting for these matches just like anyone, but in my opinion, hate should never come up, even in a game (I don't hate Mio, there are just plenty of other characters that I like way more than her). I just hope some of the more vocally unhappy people in this situation don't eventually physically materialize their anger towards China in some way, or let it become a catalyst for racism.

Azusa did her best, but Shana's time is still ONGOING...only time will tell...anyway, Shana has beaten everyone in this year's league; however, she has never beaten Mio...then she has a 1-1 win-loss record against Mikoto this year...oh well, let the fates decide...

So far no one has ever mentioned hating Chinese as a race. All the "rants" are more towards China as a voting bloc. We all know that this is a game and the "vocalness" are just part of the game and after a few posts, we move on (well...sometimes it can stretch a bit longer). It would be very dull if each results were to illicit quiet responses like some of the Regular Season threads that didn't make it past 2 pages (those were due to the matchups whose outcome were pretty much more or less expected).

And for the record, I'm a third generation Southeast Asian Chinese. Grandfather escaped from China when he was a teenager to avoid being forced to join the army during the Cultural Revolution (if I recall correctly).

@Kiopi: 3rd generation, eh? Now that is nice...as for me, I have CHINESE relatives; plus, I am a Philippine with Spanish descent...3rd+ generation...anyway, if I look at the world charts...Philippines is going for K-On, as always

I'm going to advert to a different topic here. Is anyone other than myself curious on how the Taiga vs. Hinagiku match will fare? Last year, Fate was also in the 5th place match with Kyou and lost, making her 6th. Anyone else wondering that the same thing could happen to Hinagiku as she faces Taiga? Taiga never defeated Hinagiku, but she has done many things that people thought were impossible to do.

They are pretty close together in terms of strength. I think Hinagiku is a bit stronger, though. Azusa did beat Taiga worse than Shana beat Hinagiku ans Shana was stronger than Azusa. Unless Shana vs Misaka drags in a bunch of Kugimiya Rie fans, I think Hinagiku is going to win.
A miracle that you believe in when you know it won't happen......... is hope.

Well, too much discussion about personal attitude towards a contry or some specific groups of people doesn't make sense. Changing topic might be a brilliant choice. As those mentioned, Taiga vs Hina is also an exciting match. Ja, Taiga had never beaten Hina this season, however, Hina seems not as strong as she did in the regular. And Taiga sometimes was able to give unbelievable performance. So, l do think this match is interesting and pretty nice.

Anything can happen, no ? I think it's not because a character won against another one 2 or 3 times in a season that the second character cannot win. The issue has a big importance in the course of the match.

Everyone has his/her own favorite.
I just can't stand that someone is going to anti-vote one character
and tell everyone on the forum.
