2014 Postseason general discussion thread

Post by maglor » Tue Aug 19, 2014 3:55 am

This thread is for discussing upcoming matches. There isn't strict limit on what can be posted as long as it is somewhat related to upcoming and potential matches in the future, except for very negative comments/posts about almost anything. Also please refrain from posting too much support materials for a character. A little bit of support post can be tolerated, but any post, that for some reason is deemed to be, or have become, too excessive may be deleted without warning.

You are allowed to post a picture that may be suitable to be used for the Tiara, seasonal tournament, and VN tournament poster. When you do so, please make sure you put the picture within spoiler, in order to save space. Make sure the links are working fine if it is needed. If you have large number of pictures to recommend, I recommend you set up some sort of page for these images and give us only the link to the page. Pictures for the posters are not intended to be a mean to campaign for a character, thus the discussion about those pictures should focus more on aesthetics and presentability. The guideline is that if there is anything that may feel like too much to some people, seriously consider scaling back and/or present it in ways that people can easily ignore it if they want to ignore it.

Anyways, it looks like Mikoto is a surprisingly strong enemy to those who don't want to see a repeat winner.

Uh, moving away from facepalming...

Azusa vs Shana will be a tough match in round 1 of PS1. Loser doesn't get into PS2.

This year everyone plays four full matches in PS1, so the loser *may* still qualify.

NO. We are using Swiss-system, so winning may not guarantee PS2 spot.

Mikoto's results in Topaz 7 ensures that she will not win this year. Seriously. Her best chance was to have a close win or close loss against Kanade.

excuse me...
well, maybe this is not the place to ask this question, but I'm new here in this forum, so can anybody tell me where should I start?

thank you :)

I'm maybe new here, but I can say this will not be a Kanade year (unfortunately)
she suffers to much anti-voting (that's what I get from reading randomly these past few days..)
though I'm sure she'll soar again in a year or two or maybe three...

I'll think this year I'll be guessing it's Asuna, Kurumi, Shiina, or maybe Shana (provided Azusa doesn't kick her out)

ps.: poor Kanade, why does she has to suffer here, too? :'(

Really? I need to get with the times.

Edit: Just did a quick read up. So technically, all 4 matches should already be known now?

Edit 2: Oh wow, PS1 starts on 7th Sept. Lotsa thumb twiddling to do.

Here's some words to fans of DAL characters (whichever you support):

You must do campaigning in various countries (including Spanish-speaking countries and such) in order to win against Asuna or Rikka. You guys already lost China, which is supposedly the region that provides most votes for DAL. Even Rikka managed to took China over Kotori. If the current situation in Topaz still continues, Kurumi, Kotori OR Yoshino would lose against Asuna (or even Rikka) in Postseason. So, I would suggest you guys stop anti-voting whatever characters you DON'T like in DAL and vote for them alongside your favorite characters.

Next year Shiro (or Onodera/Chitoge, maglor is claiming that FB likes them a lot) will come into ISML. All of them would have a large fanbase (NOTE: Shiro's fanbase is in China). If you can't even win Asuna or Rikka (or Hime) in Postseason, you guys will find it hard, very hard next year.

And BTW: Why am I seeing that Yoshino would replace Kotori or Kurumi for a spot in the Nova Circlet final? She seems to be able to absorb a lot of votes when vote count increases.

Will Shiro and Jibril be able to sustain their hype until prelims?

Aside from Shiro and Jibril, and given what has aired so far this year. What girls are likely to be in the top tier of Nova next year? And will this tier be able to be competitive to the top Nova tier of 2012 (Kanade, Kuroneko, Eucliwood)? 2013 (Mashiro, Rikka, Asuna)? 2014 (Kurumi, Kotori, Yoshino)?

FULL THE SPECULATION!

will NGNL survive their hype? that will depend on how good are the other animes that will air next season and in winter season... =P
well, me myself are quite optimistic that they will...

hmm, if SAO fans decided to put Asada Shino (Sinon) in the line next year, then I am sure we will still see the power of SAO fans, though I don't know how powerful she'll be
beside her, hmm actually I'd like to see Chaika Trabant (honestly, that anime deserves more reception :frown: I really hope the 2nd season will receive more )

well, DAL's still staying in Nova next year, so at least we will still see those three girl...
