As a fan of Black Bullet and NGNL I am glad there will be characters in RS from Nova that I support next year.

Congratulations to both Kotori and Mashiro for reaching the 2014 ISML Tiara Final. It is exciting to know we will definitely get a new champion this year. Unfortunately, I don't really care for either girl, and may even abstain (I have to vote for Shiro, so I'm turning up at least). I dropped DAL after one episode, and it was partly because of Kotori, and I dropped Sakurasou after one episode because of Mashiro. I ended up going back to Sakurasou and gave it a few more episodes and it definitely picked up, and Mashiro was given more 'good' scenes too, and I ended up really liking the show, albeit sometimes inspite of Mashiro. I think I tried rewatching DAL, but couldn't do it.

Of the two, it feels like Kotori has the advantage as she won the tougher semi-final and she drew in more votes. That said some of those votes could be anti-repeat votes, and those might not stick with Kotori. Mio was the last girl (and arguably the only girl) to win the Tiara the year she debuted in ISML, so it would be a notable achievement for Kotori. Like I said, it's just way more exciting when you know you're getting a brand new champion.

Nanami and Kuroyukihime have been absolutely brilliant too in post-season. Nanami obviously standing out more. They both show that their strength, while fragile, is genuine. They both fight it out for 5th place, and that too will be a great match. It will be great to see them compete in Stella next year (along with Asuna of course).

Ayase and Kanade have to settle for 3rd or 4th, and they probably do it with mixed 'feelings'. Kanade has been the closest character to ever become a repeat Tiara winner, and that dream looks less likely as the years roll on. So this was a missed opportunity. Ayase on the other hand, will finish the highest she's ever finished in ISML. She'll finish higher than Kuroneko, a feat not many other characters could've done in her shoes. She can look back on this year with pride, not quite having enough to reach the Tiara, but being a solid contender regardless.

Of the shows from this year, well, I expected Nisekoi to contest one final and that Shiro would be in the other. I can't really gauge how strong Enju is, but if Shiro wants to make an impact next year, then this is a good starting point.

I pretty much understand how you felt. I always feel sad when I see someone strong lose probably his/her last chance to reach a new record. Maybe it's surprising, Kanade is a character I like from an Anime I really enjoy. I prefer Angel Beats! more than Shakugan no Shana. However, I've never liked Kanade as an ISML contestant; perhaps, I just dislike any dominant thing. I'm glad she is out.

Really good results.

yep, a little bit surprising, since HK and Taiwan this time chose to support the other side. (oh if you're from Malaysia, I'll take back my words.

WOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!! WOWOWOWOWOWWW!!! OOOOH BOY!! OH YEAH!!!! HELLZ YEAH!!!!! Awesome results this time. Well except maybe for Yoshino & Kuroneko & Chino losing, but hey if Kuroneko had to lose to someone I'm glad it was someone like Nanami at least.

Though I never really cared for the DAL anime, I think I still gotta heavily support Kotori. I mean just LOOK at the sigs of niwa87 & LOvelive! (well I think LOvelive has a picture of Kotori - can't see the twin tails to verify). SOOOOO FRAGAMALIAGISHIOUSLY MOE!!!! AND has TWIN TAILS!!!

I stand corrected, there was more dangerous than the quarter finale match for Kanade after all. I didn't see this result coming at all, nor do I really understand it, either ;O.
But man, what a lackluster finale for me.

While I wouldn't go as far as calling stuff "shit", I understand the feeling here. I think I'm going to vote for Kotori even though Sakurasou is far better than DAL, because of how uninteresting Mashiro is, as well as the amusing idea of having a character who's chaining the loss in necklace and is a good candidate to have as many lost necklace as Azusa winning the tiara; but I'm really not motivated by that finale. Yes, it's different than usual, that's all good, but why of all characters a DAL character AND Mashiro? T_T

ISML 2014: Kotori Itsuka to the Championship Match

By Jo-Ryan Salazar
October 2, 2014

There will be no repeat winner this year in the International Saimoe League. Riding on huge victories in the Philippines, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the Middle East and Indonesia, Kotori Itsuka defeated Kanade Tachibana, 4649-4170, to advance to the 2014 ISML Championship Match against Mashiro Shiina. Tachibana's major victories came in Russia, Korea, Vietnam, Western Europe, Canada, the USA and Africa.

In consolation round action, Nanami Aoyama won the closest match of the night: a 4380-4239 thriller over Ruri Gokou, Kuroyukihime flew past Taiga Aisaka 4631-4165, Kurumi Tokisaki shot down Shana 4456-4078, Asuna Yuuki slashed past Yoshino 4753-3955, Mikoto Misaka electrocuted Eucliwood Hellscythe 4625-3965 and Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi romped past Rikka Takanashi 4413-3966.

In exhibition action, Chitoge Kirisaki crushed Saya Tokido 4428-3360, Kosaki Onodera defeated Satone Shichimiya 4318-3826, Enju Aihara shot down Chino Kafuu 4275-3605, Shiro routed Tina Sprout 4953-3243 and Mare S Ephemeral prevailed over Amane Suou 3261-3091.

Match Day 10 of the 2014 International Saimoe League, the final match day of the ISML season, is scheduled for Sunday, October 5, 2014. Vote for your favorite candidates at InternationalSaimoe.com and join the ongoing debate.
