A tall, towering wall looms in front of me. Beyond that is something that I could never to see on my own.
And that is...the view from the top.

Come on Taiga, you can do it!

And Fate too, if only because I want Suigintou out. :D

And thus my #2 pick overall and #1 this year falls to Taiga .. well I can still vote against the two who knocked her out .. and try to get her a decent placement. *shrug* you can support Taiga.. and I will be sure to help see to her downfall - my support goes to Fate for that reason.

Fate taking out Gin-sama is classed as an upset? Wow.

Tomoyo and Fate rape again.

YES! Kagami beats Haruhi, didn't expect that at all, Haruhi's popularity seems to have taken a turn decisively for the worse, and that's fine with me! RM support definitely took a nosedive since the first match, congrats Tomoyo, Fate, and Taiga for victories.

While I'm ambivalent about my feelings concerning this round, this definitely solidifies my choices for next round.

Haruhi, I salute you. The journey has been alternately exhilarating, shocking, thrilling and disappointing. But it was always surreal and never dull. We'll get 'em next year.

Personal thoughts aside, here's my asinine analysis.

Kagami upsets Haruhi 1524-1387
Finally, the Kagami we all know and love (well, maybe not all love, but at least know) shows up. She certainly wasn't hurt by being in the Korean finals, but the big three nations (China, Taiwan and the US) broke for Kagami by only 25 votes combined. Still, a close win is still a win, and Kagami at her best is still a threat. Still, I think she's a big underdog against...

Tomoyo def. Mikuru 1792-1192
This was not a shock. Mikuru was lucky to draw an abandoned Desu to get this far, but today she lost to a far better opponent. Now comes the hard part: Should Tomoyo get by Kagami (which she should do), she then draws either the strong Shana or the Kyou that just whooped her soundly in Diamond 9. I think the result against Kyou was an outlier, but there's just no way I can say it's a sure thing against Kyou. We just don't know how strong Kyou really is, since she's only faced Dolls to this point. And as for Shana, I think Shana would have a good chance to avenge her only defeat of the year. If either match happens, it would be very intriguing.

Fate upsets Suigintou 1722-1133
I'm still not sold on Fate yet, but maybe I should be. On one hand, she was competitive in defeat against Hinagiku, then followed that with massive victories over Nanoha and Suigintou. On the other hand, almost every first round match was competitive, and her two wins came against her show's clear #2 girl (as a clear #1) and against an abandoned Doll. If she beats Taiga, I will jump on the FEITO~~~~!!! bandwagon and lead the charge. I don't think that'll happen (not because Fate's weak but because Taiga's strong), but we'll see.

Taiga upsets Rin 1517-1378
Taiga's win over Rin wasn't as big as I thought it would be, but it got the job done. Should she get by Fate, I see big trouble with either Yuki or 'Giku. Regardless of how things turn out, 2009 is the Year of the Tiger. She will finish:

-No worse than 8th in ISML,
-No worse than 4th in Japan, and
-No worse than 2nd in Korea.

And my absolutely useless Lines for Monday:

SHANA +125 over Kyou
HINAGIKU +150 over Yuki

Well, Amdrag, I applaud you for making better judgement this coming round, than the last.

Disclaimer: This post is officially lacking of sarcasm.

...Although, I don't expect Hina's win over Yuki to be that large.

FATE! <3 KAGAMI! <3 TAIGA! <3
Everyone I wanted to win, won. Kagami had a really nice upset there, as did Taiga. I was expecting Fate to overcome Sugintou, as the dolls have just flopped in DE.
