Congrats for Shana as the tiara of 2016, and I (absolutely) excited for the resultresults since 9 years ago.

Poor Hachiman, but congrats to Sora as a Scepter in 2016.

Meanwhile, that Eru vs Mio with tie score(s) really

Well I personally actually prefer the Tiara picture to show (or have an emphasis on) some of her cuteness/graciousness. That picture is too in a battle mode. This is my real opinion, so it's kinda different from what I expected.

Meanwhile, I love the Sora poster. Shiro there is surprisingly fitting because he works in tandem with her. Sadly, Shiro will have to work without him this time, and you know how the siblings are without each other

A symbolism of her and her fans' persevering fighting in the past 9 years, I actually like this idea, very nice. But still a battling picture that can show some her graciousness at the same time would be the best, since it's the crowning time after all. Already good, but oh I kinda hate myself for not expecting the Tiara poster to come out this soon.

why do both of these posters feel so much like copy and paste?

Also, I am pretty damn sure there is a image of Shana in a white dress and a tiara. Why was that not used?

Ummm that picture might not exist. I would regard graciousness as the most significant when it's time to crown.

I regard "in-character" much more important than any "theme" we might have. In fact, we have been trying to get away from restricting ourselves with themes for quite a while, and it's time to make the final leap.

Graciousness is not something that bests describes Shana. I'd rather represent Shana as something she is most of the time than to make her into someone she's not. Sure, a picture of Shana in a dress with a tiara probably exists, but it's not the first thing I think of that reminds me of Shana. Considering further that we already have a "moe" poster of Shana this year in Amethyst, the decision to make a non-repetitive version seems quite obvious.

EDIT: In the same vein, Sora and Shiro can never be apart, and Sora definitely cannot win anything without Shiro's help. That's why it feels right to include her in the poster as well. In short, we made decisions based on how the characters are portrayed in the anime.

Thank you everyone who voted for Shana throughout this year!!
What an amazing comeback from ISML's oldest veteran ^-^

After Shana's horrible performance last year, I honestly believed she was doomed to slowly fade away with time..
Never have I been happier to be proved wrong though!

Whether this miracle is due to lower vote numbers or something else, I'm not sure really~
Anyways, what a wonderful feeling this is ;_;

EDIT: Regarding the posters, they are both nice and all, but I do kind of get this feeling that they are a bit "underwhelming" maybe?
Like, they do feel a bit "copy/paste ish" like Minhtam said -w-
No offence though.

Yeah I understand that, actually this Tiara poster you suggested Hika to make is kinda unique in the sense you pointed out. But for me it's sort of a conflict in ideal, nothing else should be weighed more than graciousness when crowning. At least in my ideal, a mature and ambitious young king/queen will graciously say all the hard time he/she has gone through is nothing or has no importance for now, when he/she is being crowned. All he/she will be showing or will like to show at the moment is the incomparable graciousness.

Overall, so I don't think it's not good, but can be better, at least in my sense.

As someone who has both anime on indefinite hold (so feel free to take my opinion with their grains of salt), I think those posters are beautiful and representative of what those characters are like~~ Awesome job Hika <3

Sorry, but I feel awfully disrespected by this... You can complain all you want but I put a lot of work into it. Sorry I couldn't create the moe-est of moe posters for your liking.

edit: i can understand the other concerns about it not being tiara-esque and Kholdy did explain his reasoning for that, but to say that it's copy and paste is a completely different matter to me.

I, unlike seemingly everyone else here, think this is the best Shana poster ISML has made to date.

The colors are perfect for Shana and take an aspect of her personality that is MAJOR towards her show that has yet to be shown off by ISML Necklace posters.

I also always preferred Shana with the red hair, she looked way prettier than with the black hair, and to be honest, she always seemed more focused on the interesting parts of the show (antagonists) when she was in her Flame Haze mode vs. when in her human form.

Great poster, to be honest, one of my favorites ISML has done (probably top 5).

Feel like I want to make a final post. Lower vote number + The increasing combination of individual efforts from her fans and neutral voters having feelings on her, which is my version of interpretation. From my conversation with a few supporters having done the most things for her in the past a few years at Baidu, they all consider it is a miracle resulting from the consistent efforts made by individuals; after all (my complement) true miracles would never be achieved by illicit tricks. I mean moreover even I am 24 now, some people still staying and possessing probably the deepest love for her are almost at their 30, at this age all they could do (and in their mind) was contributing one vote per match, rather than considering how to do effective multi-voting like in the passionate younger days, plus I don't think massive multi-voting is effective under the current vote checking system. This should also be the case in places like HK, Taiwan, Malaysia, Japan, etc. Hence, I very strongly believe this amazing and successful year is attributed to individual efforts, with those from her fans lying in the center. Or the simplest way, WE made it ^^

I love Shana's poster it reflects how she battled for the tiara and how determined her fans are for 9 years. The Sora poster made me curious if Shiro won tiara in the future he would appear on Shiro's poster.

I would maybe not put Shana's poster in my top 5 like Desu, but I think it's still a very good one. I understand that some people can be disappointed (and some love it even more) since it's really different from many posters, cause it's the result of an ambitious (and risky) move (reference: KS post). And it's also what makes this poster unique in a way. What count the most to me: This is a coherent choice, and a choice which liberate artists from a constraint. This aside, poster have approximately same quality than others imo.

But I totally don't get the "copy/paste" thing, there's so many effects that I would think it's impossible to think that; without reading those comments. I must admit I'm very curious about what makes you feel like that. @_@

It happens when someone has an idealized version of how posters should look in their mind, so everything that is different seems lacking.

EDIT: Seasonal posters are now available on the front page.
