Elimination 2017 Featured Match Write-Ups

Post by Momento10 » Thu Nov 23, 2017 1:08 am

Featured Match previews/descriptions/teasers for ISML matches are needed every round. Anyone in the community is welcome to contribute in any language. Accepted submissions will be displayed on the front page during the voting round and archived on the site afterwards. You may receive cookies when you submit and/or help edit write-ups.

Archived write-ups can be found here for reference: http://2016.internationalsaimoe.com/con ... _index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Guidelines
  • You must be fair to all candidates involved. Write in a neutral voice but keep the reader in suspense, too.
  • Writers have a max total of 5 previews per round.
  • 200-word limit for each Regular Season Female preview, Regular Season Male preview, and 1v1 Exhibition preview, regardless of content or style.
  • 300-word limit for each Exhibition 2v2 preview, due to the pairing of contestants.
  • 450-word limit for each Necklace/Pendant and Necklace/Pendant Exhibition preview.
  • Please use the spelling conventions that ISML uses (e.g. with the macrons ō and ū).
  • Because these will be on the front page, appropriateness and quality of writing are extremely important.
  • Please proofread your work from the perspective of a normal visitor; would he or she understand what you wrote?
  • Try to avoid major plot/character spoilers.
  • Unfortunately, not every submission will be featured.
  • And perhaps MOST IMPORTANT, final revisions of the submissions must be turned in, at the latest, at 10:00 GMT--5 hours before the start of each match.
Tips for Writers
  • Beware of long, cumbersome sentences. While many of them are technically correct, with their commas and conjunctions, they often sound very awkward and become difficult to follow after some length. Try to be considerate of your readers and vary up your sentences' lengths to create regular patterns. Read your works out loud and consider how each sentence sounds.
  • Be very careful of using the same words over and over (example: "girl"), and of using the same sentence structures repeatedly (ex: "Girl A blah blah blah blah blah. On the other hand, Girl B blah blah blah"). Avoid repetition and get creative with your descriptions of the contestants, while still remaining true to their characters.
  • Most of all, try to have fun with your writing! If you find yourself in a slump and using the same style repeatedly with no vigor to your work, then take a break. Maybe read a blog entry or something elsewhere to freshen up your language, then try to write on a clean page. If you're forcing yourself and not having fun, then stop. Come back for the next round. If you're having trouble with something, let us know here and someone or multiple "someones" is/are bound to jump in and aid you.
Post your writings here, and Staff will review and consider them. If you have just ideas, but not whole write-ups, that's okay, too! We can all help each other come up with the best paragraphs to introduce our matches. Thank you for helping to improve ISML!

Rem vs. Makise KurisuShow
Time travel sure sounds cool, but for the ones staying behind, it can easily become confusing.
Kurisu didn't want to believe in space travel: as a genius graduating from university at seventeen, she believed this so-called time machine to be a fraud and was finally only convinced with proper evidence. In other timelines though, she couldn't even realize how lucky she was to have a time traveler protecting her at all costs.
Rem doesn't even realize she lived through different time loops. How then could she explain that this boy knows so much about her? How can he understand her so well when they just met? But to save everyone living in the manor, this boy has no choice but to live the same days again and again. And it's hard for Rem not to fall for this mysterious person.
Living with a time traveler generally comes with many adventures and one doesn't always have the opportunity to say no. Across all possible timelines, who will be the eternal winner between Rem and Kurisu?

Elimination 1Show
Rem (Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu) vs. Makise Kurisu (Steins;Gate)
Time travel sure sounds cool, but for the ones staying behind, it can easily become confusing.
Kurisu did not want to believe in space travel. As a genius graduating from university at seventeen, she believed this so-called time machine to be a fraud until she was finally convinced with proper evidence. However, in other timelines, she did not realize how lucky she was to have a time traveler protecting her at all costs.
Rem does not even realize she lived through different time loops. How could she explain that this boy knows so much about her? How can he understand her so well when they just met? But to save everyone living in the manor, this boy has no choice but to live the same days again and again. It is hard for Rem not to fall for this mysterious person.
Living with a time traveler generally comes with many adventures and one does not always have the opportunity to say no. Across all possible timelines, who will be the eternal winner between Rem and Kurisu?

Katō Megumi (Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata) vs. Shiro (No Game No Life)
What does it mean to be noticed? What does it mean to be seen? Katō Megumi never really wanted to be the center of attention, preferring to go with the flow of where life takes her. Interacting with a group of people who are bent on making their project a success sparks an interest to do more for the group than she should. Slowly, Megumi became an essential component for the project, doing more work behind the scenes than any other member. Shiro is used to having her brother by her side, but, as an individual, she is very shy and cautious. Shiro is afraid of making bonds outside of her protective circle because she cannot trust those she does not know that much about. Only when she feels that the person has a warm heart does Shiro open up to him or her, becoming a critical member of her group. Who will be able to feel comfortable stepping into the spotlight she is anxious of?

Koizumi Hanayo (Love Live!) vs. Minase Iori (THE [email protected])
The road to becoming an idol may not be as easy as how these two girls envisioned it. For Koizumi Hanayo, she was always looking and admiring idols from afar, wishing that she can become like them. No matter how much she studied or learned how these girls achieved their status, Hanayo is too shy to make that first step, doubting that she can make a difference in the idol world. An encounter with an eccentric student may provide her the courage necessary to take a step into the world she wanted to be in. Minase Iori took her idol status for granted, believing that living the idol life is simple and easy given her status and charm. However, working hard as one was not something she envisioned, from working with public relations to mingling with business partners and fans. From there, Iori respected how much time and effort an idol has to do behind the scenes in order to make her career a success. Who will be able to showcase her emotional and unforgettable story on stage?

Keroberos (Cardcaptor Sakura) vs. Luna (Sailor Moon)
Guardians in their own way, Keroberos and Luna will square off to see who the superior of the two is. As the keeper of the cards, it is Keroberos’s duty to safeguard them from evil and make sure that they do not escape from the sealed book. Keroberos can be impatient sometimes, wishing that the successor of the cards would stop making careless mistakes when facing the supernatural. Over time, Keroberos learns to be serene as a trainer, allowing her to embrace her normal life while reminding her of her duties as a collector. Luna’s main mission is to find the princess of her world and seek the defenders who would assist her in finding her. Although the person she is training is easily frightened and a bit of a crybaby, Luna gives her advice every now and again to help her overcome a situation. While the search may take longer than she expected, Luna is confident that the people she has chosen will guide her to the right direction. Who will be considered the “true guardian” by the end of this match?

Elimination 2Show
Shiina Mashiro (Sakura-sō no Pet na Kanojo) vs. Takanashi Rikka (Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai!)
Their passion for their craft is what keeps them going. Although many of the people she cared about walked away from the art industry after seeing her work, Shiina Mashiro will not stop perfecting her craft. Studying in another country meant that Mashiro can learn new things that her previous school may not have given her. Many people see this as leaving for the sake of leaving, but Mashiro wants to prove can she can bode well with any art medium given to her. As the bearer of the Wicked Eye, Takanashi Rikka’s duty is to search and analyze the mysterious phenomenon that had plagued the city. Most of the things she does may seem bizarre to some, but for Rikka, it is just another day to get one step closer to the truth of the matter. Many people claim she is doing this to run away from reality, but Rikka will do anything in her power to fill in the missing gaps in her heart. Who will be able to showcase their talent to her fullest at the end of the bout?

Megumin (KonoSuba) vs. Aisaka Taiga (Toradora!)
The fire that burns inside them knows no boundaries. Megumin flies into the area, ready for the next assignment that awaits her. Any quest related to combat gets her excited, as she is more than happy to showcase just how effective her magic can be. One chance is all she needs to conjure up the best spell she knows and fire it at will. Aisaka Taiga is more than comfortable with introducing her opponents to the floor. There are only a few people that she can truly trust as friends; the rest she has no care for. Whether it is because she had a bad day or if she is too embarrassed, the Palmtop Tiger can strike at any moment. Who will be able to land the final blow when all is said and done?

Saber (Fate Series) vs. Asada Shino (Sword Art Online)
They say that every person carries a weapon in their heart, yet the item that these girls carry was not of their choice. Saber may have successfully pulled out the sacred blade, but it was to protect her kingdom from imminent danger. Even when she led her men to victory, it cost her several lives to fulfill the duty she was required to do. If given the chance, she would do anything to do everything all over again and making different choices. Asada Shino may be the best marksman of the game, but she has a strong fear of guns outside of gaming. The traumatic event of the past causes her feet to buckle every time she sees one. While gaming allows her to be comfortable with such weapons, it has not helped her overcome her trauma. Can Saber slash her way to victory, or will Shino be able to snipe her adversary down?

Archer (Fate Series) vs. Takasu Ryūji (Toradora!)
They may act like lone wolves, but there is more to them that meets the eye. Archer may act unfriendly, but he is thinking several steps of both his allies and enemies. With a keen eye, Archer is able to control the battlefield to his favor, even when the enemy thinks he or she has gained the upper hand. Archer fights for what he feels is right rather than be swayed by what other people tell him to do. Takasu Ryūji may appear dangerous, but he is the nicest person anyone would meet. From watering flowers to helping his teachers with paperwork, Ryūji is one of the hardest working individuals that most are unable to tell at first glance. Ryūji tries to not let his appearance get the best of him, continuing to work as a diligent student should. Who will be able to reveal to their adversary what he is capable of?

Elimination 3Show
Tokisaki Kurumi (Date A Live) vs. Illyasviel Von Einzbern (Fate Series)
Deep in the bottom of the abyss is a girl with constant conflicting emotions. On one hand, she wishes nothing more than the destruction of the world, cleansing it from all of its impurities. On the other hand, she wishes to believe that there is enough good in the world to search for a different approach. Until that option is presented, she will always look at a situation in a negative light. Locked in the top of a mansion lives a girl oblivious to the darkness that continues to shroud her. She believes that, just yesterday, she was happily walking along the forest with her dear mother. Yet, here she stands, among her elders, in preparation for the next Great War in hopes to become the successor of the grail. Now twisted and tormented, her heart only weans for both annihilation and salvation. For these two girls, taking and destroying seem to be the only thing left for them to remain sane. Can either Tokisaki Kurumi or Illyasviel Von Einzbern remember what it is like to walk with the light?

Emilia (Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu) vs. Tomori Nao (Charlotte)
How does it feel to be invisible, with no one noticing one’s presence or simply ignoring it? Emilia wishes to interact with the people in her town, yet people continue to see her as a character in the dangerous legend. Even so, Emilia strives to know her people better so they may help her cause to create a world without prejudice. While Tomori Nao is only able to become invisible to one person’s eye, she believes that this power can still be of good use. As long as she is there watching other people’s movement without noticing her presence, she can act as a guide to bring them towards the right direction. Who will be able to continue to overcome the situations around her?

Hikigaya Hachiman (OreGairu) vs. Araragi Koyomi (Monogatari Series)
It is not always easy to complete a task give to them. Hikigaya Hachiman never considered participating in a service club until his teacher made him a member of it. While most of his days are spent reading in the club room, when someone does seek for advice, his first response is asking if he or she performed every possibility before coming here. While not the type to lift his finger too much, Hachiman gives it his all on the task, more so than he thogut he would. It seems that encountering and forming a contract with a vampire is more than enough requirements to participate as a supernatural hunter. Although he initially did not know what was going on, as he continued to see those close to him become affected by various phenomenons, he believed it was his duty to protect them. Under the guide of an oddly-dressed man and a weakened vampire, Koyomi ventures to take care of these mysterious beings. Who will be able to prove that he is the better tactician of the two?

Emiya Kiritsugu (Fate Series) vs. Yukihira Sōma (Shokugeki no Sōma)
They say not to bring a knife to a gun fight, except if that knife belonged to the son of one of the more accomplished chefs in the world and if the gun belonged to a man would rather fight with stealth and long range than closer quarter combat. Emiya Kiritsugu is deemed one of the most dangerous men in the world due to his unconventional means to take out a target. From poisons to explosions, Kiritsugu would rather not reveal his identity to the enemy unless absolutely necessary. No matter who his opponent is or what that person is capable of, Kiritsugu will find a way end that person’s fate. Yukihira Sōma has constantly been treated as someone not worth his or her time, given his odd and “unfortunate” background. Yet, even with people looking down on him, Sōma is more than happy to challenge them should they believe they can make a better dish than him. The only judges on the table are one’s taste palettes, and Sōma is ready to surprise everyone with his unconventional cooking style and dish. Who will be able to showcase his highest potential until the end of the round?

Elimination 4Show
Kafū Chino (Gochūmon wa Usagi Desu ka?) vs. Yūki Asuna (Sword Art Online)
Rather than exchanging blows, Kafū Chino and Yūki Asuna would prefer settling the score with their taste palettes. Many people await Chino to become the next head of the family café, and it is not hard to understand why. Kind, compassionate, and capable, Chino has all the tools of becoming a fine barista of her own. Her home-brewed coffee and gentle smile are enough to make those feel that they are in the comfort of their home. Yūki Asuna is not just one of the warriors of her guild, she happens to be a great chef. Achieving an S Rank in cooking, Asuna is virtually unable to cook a poor meal, even with lackluster ingredients. Having both excellent combat and cooking skills, it is of no wonder many try to pick her up, albeit unsuccessfully. Who will be able to showcase the full extent of their cooking prowess?

Yukinoshita Yukino (OreGairu) vs. Tōsaka Rin (Fate Series)
Independent, yet distant. Elegant, yet sharp-tongued. Various phrases can be pulled out to describe both of these contenders. Yukinoshita Yukino spends most of her time enjoying brewed tea while examining the world from afar. The things that the people are doing outside the window make her curious, but not enough to actually participate with them. Yukino prefers watching people and responding based on their emotions and reactions rather than speak without thinking. Tōsaka Rin is the perfect example of a model student. Excelling in academics, athletics, and charm, it is not hard to see why Rin became so popular amongst her peers. Yet, even with all the jovial interaction with her classmates, a veil of longingness is cast upon her eyes, as if her daily dose of adolescent cheer was not enough to quench what it is that she desires. Who will be able to open up to others once they find what is missing in their hearts?

Satō Kazuma (KonoSuba) vs. Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist)
Bonds are something that one should cherish, and these two competitors are no exception. While Satō Kazuma is usually seen talking negatively about his comrades, he still cares about them. They were among the first people whom he interacted with ever since he arrived in the new world. Both his party members and the adventure guild provided him the incentive to do more with his life, even though it involves people he is wary about. Although Edward Elric would rather be a thorn on other people’s side than a reliable acquaintance, the memories that he shares with them are something that he cherishes. Growing up under unfortunate circumstances, Edward is often concerned about who he can regard as a friend or an enemy. Once he manages to make the connection, Edward becomes one of the most trusted and loyal individuals anyone can have. Can Kazuma silence his adversary with his magic, or will Edward take his opponent down with his alchemy?

Tachibana Taki (Kimi no Na wa) vs. Kamijō Tōma (Toaru Majutsu no Index)
For two guys who wish to live ordinary lives, extraordinary things are happening around them. Tachibana Taki was fine with the hustle and bustle of the city, as it provides him with something to do while giving him an incentive for living independently. When he finds himself awake in a female’s body, the experience seems too good to be true for a dream. When he finds out that his “dreams” are more tangible than be believed, he is sent on a wild ride that may change his perspective on his life. In an world filled with supernatural events and abilities, Kamijō Tōma would ideally be in a normal school without dealing with anything of the sort. Yet, it seems like, no matter which corner he turns, he is somehow thrown into the chaos of those testing the limits of their power and abilities. As long as it does not concern him, he is fine, but if they target those that are closer to him, Tōma is ready to let his fists do the talking. Who will be able to return to the normal life he seeks?

Elimination 5Show
Rem (Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu) vs. Katō Megumi (Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata)
For people who are used to staying in the background, these two girls manage to find themselves standing in the middle of the spotlight. Rem has always been overshadowed by those who are better than her, which frustrates her daily. When it was finally her turn to shine, she gets easily flustered and tends to make more mistakes than she should. Rem is determined to continue her goals until the end, no matter how dangerous a situation may be. Katō Megumi never had much interest in becoming the lead for any story. Yet, when an unusual work is based on her, it is up to her to make sure that everything about this project runs as smoothly as possible. Sure enough, the friends that she makes and the work she has put to make their project happen allow her to shine brighter than she is used to. Who will be able to bring out the best of her abilities when the light shines on her again?

Aisaka Taiga (Toradora!) vs. Shiina Mashiro (Sakura-sō no Pet na Kanojo)
It took a while for these two characters to find their place in a world foreign to them. Aisaka Taiga is known as a lone wolf, not relying on anyone but herself. There are only a few people whom she is truly able to share her story and secrets with; the rest of the world she can do without. When more and more people try to enter into her life, Taiga cannot help but accept them for their genuine interest to be with her. Shiina Mashiro never knew much about the life and customs of the world around her, preferring to do things on her own at her own pace. As a resident of a dorm filled with aspiring art students, Mashiro stands out as the brightest of the group, but the most out-of-touch as well, from dressing to communication. Although she is so different from the rest, she is well accepted by her peers, embracing her with open arms. Who can prove that she still has a place in a tournament filled with new and old faces?

Korosensei (Ansatsu Kyōshitsu) vs. Shiota Nagisa (Ansatsu Kyōshitsu)
A bond beyond the boundaries of cohesion and understanding. A teacher educating his students. An assassin learning from his target. While Korosensei can easily destroy the world whenever he wishes, he limits himself until the next year to do so, choosing to teach some classes over world destruction. Korosensei may be an odd figure to generalize, but he claims to be a teacher first, an annihilator second. Korosensei is willing to do whatever it takes for his students to get the best education they deserve, both academically and assassinating. The product of his studies is represented through Shiota Nagisa. Nagisa has already accepted his role as one of the weakest and undereducated students in the academy. Yet, through his interactions with his supervisors, he learns that that is not all it takes to become a successful person in life. Dedicated to proving everyone that he has merit in a world that shunned him, Nagisa studies and practices as much as he could to make a name for himself. Who will be able to showcase the product of their training after all is said and done?

Gilgamesh (Fate Series) vs. Otonashi Yuzuru (Angel Beats!)
They have seen this view before. They have been in this situation more times than they can count. Gilgamesh has always hated those eyes – eyes that show a desire for change and revolution. If Gilgamesh’s aura and might is not enough make his opponents stand down, he may have no choice but to be active during combat. Ideally, he would rather not stain his hands with the blood of some commoners, but, sometimes, necessary measures are taken to make sure one’s dominance is fully spread throughout the world. Otonashi Yuzuru despises those eyes – the leer from people who claim to be better than he. No matter if his memory is foggy or if he is fighting on the wrong side of battle, he will never forget the bonds that he has created with his team filled with aspiring goals and dreams. From this, he chooses to stand and fight from his end, believing that his thoughts and dreams are enough of a reason to break any sort of authority. In a showdown between god and man, who will be able to deliver the final blow once the dust settles?

Elimination 6Show
Illyasviel Von Einzbern (Fate Series) vs. Emilia (Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu)
While growing up with similar backgrounds, the paths they took from their past are quite different. For Illyasviel Von Einzbern, she saw nothing but revenge for those who have left her. While she may come across as a mysterious girl, the smile on her face is more sinister than one could imagine. Despite shunning others away, all Illyasviel wanted was for someone to accept her for who she was rather than the killing machine she was meant to be. Even for a simple conversation, Emilia saw disdain in the eyes of those whom she wishes to talk to. With everyone fearing her for her appearance, Emilia was uncertain whether or not she was capable of breaking the near impenetrable barrier in the people’s hearts. Rather than give in to the people’s thoughts, Emilia continued to fight it, believing that there must be a way she can reach out to them. Which of these two girls will reveal to the other that her views are correct?

Yūki Asuna (Sword Art Online) vs. Tōsaka Rin (Fate Series)
The determination to continue forward until the end is what drives these two girls’ spirits. Yūki Asuna did not have many people to rely on or fight with during the start of her life in the virtual world. Upon working as a group to defeat the first boss monster, Asuna gained various pointers on how to continue to grow as a warrior should she come across a guild which shares her values and interest. Sure enough, Asuna became a prominent member of her guild and made sure that justice was in order wherever she went. Tōsaka Rin wishes to become the greatest mage in the world, someone who could surpass her father in skill and merit. Rin trains constantly with her teacher, believing that her efforts would bear fruit to the success she has envisioned. As the beginning of the new war slowly draws closer, she became one of the strongest candidates to winning the war and seeing her desires fulfilled. Who will be able to showcase her strength until the very end?

Hikigaya Hachiman (OreGairu) vs. Emiya Kiritsugu (Fate Series)
As long as the end result is the same, Hikigaya Hachiman and Emiya Kiritsugu do not care what means they have to use to achieve it. Hachiman usually has his own way of dealing with a task at hand, and is not one to cooperate with other people. Many of the methods he has used to get the job done typically involve shifting the attention or focus to another source or purposefully beating himself to the ground. Although those methods appear cruel to some, Hachiman believes that this is the only way to have people driven towards the goals they designed for themselves. Kiritsugu is no stranger to using anything in his power to take down his adversary. From long distance attacks to smoke and poison, Kiritsugu will stop at nothing to achieve his goal. Many people may see Kiritsugu as the most dangerous person in the war, but for him, it is another mission to be completed. Who will be able to take care of his adversary before it is too late?

Satō Kazuma (KonoSuba) vs. Tachibana Taki (Kimi no Na wa)
When sent to another world, these two decided to take advantage of the situation. It is not every day that one could live the life of an adventurer that Satō Kazuma envisioned, but the fantasy world was more realistic than he wanted. Working hard every day and spending the nights eating with friends is something Kazuma could easily achieve in his home world. Still, Kazuma enjoys this new life, as it allows him to do things he had always wanted, from accepting quests to defeating villains and monsters. Tachibana Taki’s ordinary life would turn upside down when he finds himself inside a girl’s body. Like most adolescent boys, Taki would try to take advantage of his new situation by doing things that he normally would not be able to do in his actual gender. Yet, as a part of her body, Taki was able to see things from a different perspective and learn things he may not have known about prior to these mysterious events. Who will be able to show to the other what he has learned during his time with his new environment?

Elimination 7Show
Katō Megumi (Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata) vs. Shiina Mashiro (Sakura-sō no Pet na Kanojo)
Before they realized it, they became the center of attention. Katō Megumi was used to becoming the background character, as she was perfectly fine with going along with where life takes her. Now that people are trying to make her stand out from the normal crowd, Magumi cannot help but add a little touch of personality to spice things up. Seeing everyone work hard made Megumi realize that she may as well put in just as much effort for those who are trying so hard for her. Shiina Mashiro was used to working in her own little world, not paying attention to what was happening outside of her canvas. Living in a dormitory in another country gave Mashiro plenty of opportunities to interact with the world outside of her works. Now with plenty of people walking with her to school or entering her room, Mashiro finds comfort with the new area she resides. Who will be able to prove that she has what takes to make a name for herself?

Emilia (Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu) vs. Yūki Asuna (Sword Art Online)
In order to continue to aspire to what they want to be, Emilia and Yūki Asuna are willing to risk everything to turn it into a reality. Emilia understands that there will not be many who will look up to her simply because of her looks. Still, Emilia tries her best to turn her faults into her strength. Using her appearance as a medium for change, Emilia discusses creating a world of equality where people are not discriminated by appearances. Asuna was not used to working with groups, much less joining a guild. An encounter with an eccentric boy gave her the courage necessary to try working as a team once again. Now a well-established member of a renowned guild, Asuna continues to work hard to become the strongest and most reliable member of her party. Who will be able to turn the tide to her favor when all is said and done?

Korosensei (Ansatsu Kyōshitsu) vs. Otonashi Yuzuru (Angel Beats!)
Sometimes, it takes someone completely unexpected to double as a voice of reason and a guidance counselor. For someone who threatens to destroy the Earth in one year, Korosensei makes an excellent teacher. Not only does he excel in most subjects, he also gives helpful advice to people who doubt themselves. As a teacher, Korosensei wants nothing more but to see his students excel and grow in their own way. Despite waking up in the middle of the battlefield with amnesia, Otonashi Yuzuru appears to be the only person among the group to calmly rationalize a situation. Whenever someone is in a foul mood, Yuzuru is usually the first person he or she talks to. While Yuzuru may not be able to do anything in his current state, he is more than happy to lend an ear and offer his advice to them. Who can continue to help others until the very end?

Hikigaya Hachiman (OreGairu) vs. Tachibana Taki (Kimi no Na wa)
Doing the right thing does not always lead to the happy ending people imagined. Hikigaya Hachiman usually solves a situation by shifting the attention towards him and taking all the blame for himself. While many people argued that there are other ways to do it, Hachiman believes that this was the only way people can have a fully united mindset. Because Hachiman is used to such negativity, he does not believe that his actions are wrong enough to jeopardize the greater good. Tachibana Taki may believe he was living the ordinary life, yet these vivid dreams may be more real than he imagined. Taki can only guess what his body was doing through his notes, but his environment will remember the things that he did outside his knowledge. While it may be difficult to connect the dots, Taki still tries to live his file to the fullest to the best of his abilities. Who will be able to control his fate once the dust settles?

Elimination 8Show
Katō Megumi (Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata) vs. Emilia (Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu)
The time has finally come for both of these girls to shine. Katō Megumi will not remain in the background any longer. She has worked too hard to see what she has created with her friends come to an end. She wants to let her friends know that, if they ever need any help, they can ask her. Because they have done so much for her, it is now her turn to return the favor. Emilia will not step down any further. She knows that there are many people who are supporting her from the sidelines, even when the majority of the people are not with her. She knows that not everyone will listen to her words at first, but as long as the key people are willing to listen, that is more than enough for her. She understands that no road is easy, and it is up to her to use every bit of her arsenal in order to capture the hearts of her people. The stage is set; the spotlight shines on the Heavenly Tiara. Who will be the first to step towards it with her head held high?

Korosensei (Ansatsu Kyōshitsu) vs. Hikigaya Hachiman (OreGairu)
For a while, they have been watching each other. Korosensei would like to get to know his opponent better as a student and a person. As a teacher, Korosensei wants nothing more than to make sure his students get the proper education and motivation needed to go to the direction they wish to face. As a person, Korosensei is willing to do everything in his power to get to know his opponent better, not just as a teacher, but as a friend. Hikigaya Hachiman may find his opponent a little annoying, but worth sacrificing his social life for. Although he has seen many people use every trick in the book to get his or her way, Hachiman has also seen people sacrificing everything they had in order to become who he or she is now. Because of this, Hachiman is ready to risk everything to learn about the truth behind other people’s deceit and will stop at nothing until he hears the words he wants to hear. The long-awaited battle draws near. Can Korosensei blast his way to victory, or will Hachiman be able to outsmart him? The battle for the Lapis Scepter commences!
