Re: 2015.10.27: Rest in peace
I read about this earlier today on ANN here.
The included translated Twitter responses from other seiyuu to her passing was almost too much.
While she voiced some supporting characters in a few series I have watched, the main characters that she voiced that I'm most familiar with are Isumi and Kuuko. And most recently, as Lailah from Tales of Zestiria.

When I saw this thread earlier, I noticed Isumi immediately, and will always remember her when I wash my hands (hand soap is now infamous), but I hadn't realized that Sapphire (who is more of a main character than most think of) and my favorite cat-girl (Chaton of MAR) was also in her credits.
Her roles in the Nanoha series should be commemorated too.

I wonder if we could have a memorial arena with all of Miyu's characters appearing. I would hope for a site special, and not wait until January for this one, but forum-only would be a fine thing too.
At the site operators' disgression, just presenting the idea.

Miyu isn't the first seiyuu to pass before her time (or for others in the Japanese entertainment industry), and sadly will probably not be the last. In my opinion, if the Staff decided to make such a special arena, then fans of other seiyuu who have recently passed, or those who may pass away in the future, may demand similar treatments, which would probably burden our already overburdened Staff even more. Thus, I would suggest that if such a memorial arena were to take place, it should be organized solely by the forum community.Bastion wrote:I wonder if we could have a memorial arena with all of Miyu's characters appearing. Re: 2015.10.27: Rest in peace
It's been days since reading this news, and I'm still in a state of disbelief. Man, how could someone so young with so much to look forward to pass away this early?
And thinking that I would no longer hear the voice of Sapphire, Isumi Saginomiya and Cuuko is just...
R.I.P. Miyu Matsuki. May you find happiness in the afterlife.

Re: 2015.10.27: Rest in peace
I had thought of that after I'd posted, perhaps having a yearly 'Special Year in Review' match for all VAs who have died in the past year as a continual thing?Kordosa wrote:Miyu isn't the first seiyuu to pass before her time (or for others in the Japanese entertainment industry), and sadly will probably not be the last. I would propose to set a date and do it every year, the first few years having multiple arenas for each VA in years past so things don't get overwhelming at the start (Year 1 of doing this would hold 2015 and 1999 as a suggestion), one or two years each until it's current.
This way we would set aside a certain character to forever memorialize the artist, since it can hardly be contested that they haven't made a difference in people's lives
