Well.... I'll on hiatus to make a thread about other Saimoe-related tournaments after Best Girl Contest 7 ended (unless Facebook Waifu Awards, which ended 3 - 4 days before BGC), but don't worry. I still here for ISML itself. Thank you.

Are they cancelled permanently? Postponed to the next year due to pandemic? Or still planning?

Baidu Mini Moe 2020 and Baidu Tinghao Moe 2020 had already explained by Starry, Miss s**y anime and Miss Hotclick 2020 (aka MegamiClick 2020) had already explained by Kyoking1998.
For Yamibo Yuri Saimoe 2020, I think it's better to wait from uoiea (using Aoi Shirobako as pfp). I don't know about Tencent Buluo Moe 2020 and Baidu Chinese Moe 2020. Also pls wait for Aniplus Character Tournament 2020.

But the contest is already finished --- Ai Haibara and Gilgamesh were the winners.

- Battle of The Moe 2020 (part of Moe Moe World Facebook) will begin on November 22nd 2020. It will be ended probably January next year.
- Optional: Nusaimoe 2020 (Before adding it in this thread, read the disclaimer in its thread first) had already ended in November 2020.
- Aniplus Character Tournament 2020 will begin probably December this year.
- Facebook Loli Battle S1 2020 started on the day that as same as my 23rd birthday, and fortunately I understand the language that used for this tournament (yeah, I found the facebook page of that admin), also yeah Enju is on here, when Rentarou is on big tournament like ISML lol June 26th 2020.
- Facebook Waifu War Season 1 started on August 15th 2020.

- Facebook Torneo de Waifus xOtakuSYWaifuSx started on November 2nd (the same month).

per November 24th 2020:

I don't think it is accepted by most people, because most of those saimoe are minor tournaments.
People usually pay most attention on winners of premier and major tournaments.

I don't think that I'm a censorship-fan, at least I don't do anything like this well-known firewall. But if some entries are inappropraite for us, just point them, I would remove em.

PS: Say something really, I saw nothing about Mini Moe planning at bilibili moe tieba, are we sure that this is still "planning" in background, if not, then I would consider striking it again.

Premier and major tournaments, by what definition?

idk about the chinese folks here, but in my opinion, the generally accepted contests that "matter" are:
Anime saimoe tournament a.k.a. J-Saimoe (2002-2014) -- the one that started it all
Korea best moe (2006-2012) -- probably because it took place in the early days
ISML -- duh
r/anime's Best Girl Contest (and to a "lesser" extent Best Character) -- Best Girl is one of the most popular events in the subreddit.
Bilibili moe (2015-2018) -- because of high production value, the sheer amount of votes cast, and the fact that the votes are displayed LIVE, which makes it more exciting

Most other contests are based on opinions of the posters.

That's basically it. There's also the concept of a "Triple Crown" because why not?

--- Modern Triple Crown (ISML, Bmoe, Best Girl/Char) >>> only Rem has achieved this feat

Even though fb events inflated Rem's wins, it still doesn't discount her status as the most successful anime girl of ALL TIME (yes, even surpassing biribiri.) But i feel like it might devolve into something like a "Jordan vs Lebron" discussion though
