Anime/Manga/Game Identification or Suggestion Help

Post by Marinara » Fri Apr 01, 2011 8:20 am

If you would like help identifying an old (or new) anime, manga or game, please post in this thread so others can try and help name the series in question.

Try and supply as much information as possible. It would help to post as much as you can remember about details of the show, the characters, the setting, the genre, when you saw it or where you saw it.

I had a battle in it where the invading aliens used tentacle weapons to kill the human pilots in the fighters and the crew of the earth battleship. At the end of the movie they set off "eve" which destroyed the entire alien invading force. Does anyone know the title of this movie?

Rin is originally from eroge. Others are manga or novel or anime, anything not X-rated.

That Shiro would be from Deadman Wonderland, very good anime and manga.
She's rather like Lucy actually.

Although I tend to think of both of them as a Tsundere rather than a Yandere the others seem to be.

Sounds like Cowboy Bebop.
Bounty hunters are called cowboys and The Bebop is the main ship. The Seatbelts did all of the music for it I believe.

See ya later space cowboy.

that could be outlaw star as well though? I don't really remember the details of the episodes of CB and OS so cannot say anything about bio terrorist... Was that with a virus transforming peoples in apes? if so, that's cowboy bebop indeed.

I don't remember Outlaw Star having any bio-terrorists, nor were they bounty hunters (Gene was actually space sick for the first few episodes). Yes, I did watch both, OS was the girl-in-a-box was the brain of the ship and the ship itself was a space-grappler.

The turning into apes was definitely Bebop though. The terrorists were 'tree huggers', and the apes were going to be made extinct if I remember right.

OP of Outlaw Star and ED of Bebop (Real Folk Blues) were definitely catchy alright ^_^

they were closer of being benriya (便利屋) than being bounty hunter yes, but they were doing bounty hunt as well IIRC. Not only, but also bounty hunt. Bio terrorism probably point at CB though. But since he was talking about a good opening... (not that the CB opening is bad X] )

Yes, even so many years after, images and animation may have gotten old, but the songs still feels as nice and catchy as before. x)

Tank (Bebop) is good too, depending on who you ask, it's better than Through The Night (OS)

And even though 'Outlaw Star' is the ship's name, Jim and Gene were more mercenaries than anything else, just trying to make their way, I don't think they ever actually did a bounty run. They were trying to protect Gene's 'friend' from a bounty hunter (Sazuka?), but never did the other side of the story that I remember.

The Bebop crew (including the girls they pick up during the story) are decidedly bounty hunters, fairly decent ones between the episodes considering they're still sailing around at the end.
